Ahhhh, the weekend!

Maxine has got it right!  Every morning I think I can trick Cali by laying very still with my eyes closed, but no..........she will keep 'meowing' until I open my eyes and once she sees that, there is no stopping her!  I keep her water bowl full, as well as her food bowl, but that doesn't matter.  When she is up, she wants everybody up!

Rayven and her Mom are going for a final interview this morning, at the new school, Chattanooga School for Arts and Science, that she is hoping to go to next year.  She loves to draw and for 14 years old, she is pretty good.  But then again, I can't draw a straight line, so anyone who can draw anything, is good to me!  She brought this picture over to me yesterday and said she had drawn it for me and it had taken her a week to do it.

As you can probably tell, it is a house, but the detail she put into it doesn't show up very well.  Also, the paper she used is wrinkled.  If you enlarge it, you can see the swing on the porch....she said that reminded her of me!  I intend to frame it as it is special to me.

TODAY IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN,
SO ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS.

You Know You Are Getting Older When:

·         Your kids are becoming you . .. but your grandchildren are perfect!
·         Going out is good . . . Coming home is better!
·         You forget names . . . but it's OK because other people forgot they even knew you!!!
·         The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.
·         You sleep better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than in bed . . . it's called "pre-sleep".
·         You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch.
·         You tend to use more 4 letter words . . . "What?" . . ."When?"
·         You notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"!
·         What used to be freckles are now liver spots.
·         Everybody whispers.
·         You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet . . . two of which you will never wear.
·         You recognize that “Old” is good in some things:  Old Songs, Old movies, and best of all, OLD FRIENDS!

It's Not What You Gather,
But What You Scatter
That Tells What Kind Of Life
You Have Lived.!!!

  2. That picture is very special Grandma. It deserves a frame. For her age, she is good. She has an eye for perspective and detail. I hope she gets into the school. I wish we had those schools in my area when I was that age. I would have certainly tried to get in. ** I can identify with that list for old folks. Hubby has that 'pre-sleep' down to a science. And I hate it that all my grandchildren whisper, except for the 2 youngest, and they're too loud. hahaha
I hope you are having a wonderful day. ♥

  3. Hi Linda! Sorry to be late getting to the computer today! A drawing to frame, for sure! Please keep us posted about how the interview went and if she gets into the arts school. We are fortunate to have school for the arts here, too. Maxine is right about cats!! I know I'm getting older! LOL
