SWEET MORNING!

It is a very sweet morning for me.  I had the epidural yesterday, and with just a little 'blip', all went well.  I normally just have the injection on the left side of my spine, but yesterday, I had it on both left and right.  As I woke up and thought I was ready to go home, I tried to get off the stretcher to sit in wheelchair, and I slid down onto the floor, with my right leg folded under me.  The reason being is that I was numb on my right side, and couldn't feel my leg or foot.  My doctor and another man had to literally lift me up and sit me in the wheelchair.  It was the most unusual feeling I have ever had in my life.  Just getting into the car from the wheelchair, I still had the numbness, and when we got home, it took my son, daughter in law and Jim to get me out of the chair, and into the house, also using the walker.  I slept most of the day yesterday.  My right knee was swollen and my right hip very sore.  By bedtime, I was beginning to feel a little and slept really good.  This morning I am a new creature.  The swelling is down in my knee and I have feeling on my right side, and can walk just fine.  The injection sites never bothered me, and I am so thankful all worked out to the good.

Aryn's high school track team goes to Knoxville, Tn. today for regionals.  If they amass enough points there, they will go on to the State meet next week.  She is very excited as this is her first year to be involved in track.  She runs relays and does the broad jump and so far, has come out a winner in both.

As Aryn also plays on an AAU travel basketball team, that team is headed for the State title week after next and she will be going, and so will we!  We haven't gotten to see her play much this summer as they are out of town most of the weekends, but the State is close to us, so we can watch them hopefully win it all.

Tonight we will go to the promotion program for our youngest granddaughter, Elizabeth.  She will be going from day care to kindergarten and is leading the pledges.  She told me on Sunday that she knew them and was good at it!  lol

I am so blessed that it scares me at times.  God has been and continues to be very good to me and I am so undeserving.  We have a busy week but that is good for old folks like us.  Keeps us from sitting at home and feeling sorry for ourselves.  I pray your week will be a good one too!

  1. So glad that all went well with the epidural. I'm sorry that you had those feelings (lack of feeling) and slid out of the chair, but so glad that you were able to go home, get some rest and hoping that all will be better for you now.
Good luck to Aryn and the team. Quite an accomplishment for this young lady. Kudos to her.
We are going to our Grandson's "graduation" from pre-school this evening, too. He starts K in the fall. They grow up so fast, don't they.
    Hugs to you...
    Take care of you.
    Love,
    Jackie

  3. I'm so glad you came out of that 'blip' and doing good today. That would scare me. Have you ever had that numbness before?
Congratulations to Aryn and her teams. She is quite the little athlete.
And congratulations to Elizabeth on her 'promotion'. It's so much fun to watch our little grandchildren go through their activities, making good memories. Have a good time. ♥

  5. Well, that sure had to be scary!! I'm glad you didn't injure your knee too badly, and super glad that all is well today! That is the result you needed and hoped for! Exciting that you will get to be at such an important game, for Aryn! Please tell us all about it. Very cute that Elizabeth knows the pledge and gets to lead it at her 'graduation' ceremony! Pictures? I hope! God does bless us, and I don't think any Christian feels deserving of His grace and mercy - but so thankful for it. Have a good evening, Linda! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks. I'm still waiting to hear from Tony. Will keep you posted!
