1) I am so thankful for my church and church family. I can be as low as possible and go to worship and come home renewed. By hearing God's Word spoken, hugs and concern from people, God just gives me the boost I need to go on.
2) I am thankful that I so far, haven't lived in the tornado alley area of this great country and pray for those that do and have had damage or lost all.
3) I am thankful to live in an area that has 4 seasons, but this 100 degree temperature isn't my favorite.
4) I am thankful for the little ones in my life who always bring a smile to my face. Jesse loves to dress himself and you can tell by the shorts, then cowboy boots, with one sock. He loves playing with his PawPaw's hats and walking sticks, as you can see below:
5) I am thankful that my back and legs do not hurt and I am able to be the caregiver right now. Modern medicine is 'the bomb' as kids say now days!
6) I have given myself a challenge for the past 2 weeks - to cook food out of the freezer and not have to buy groceries to the tune of $100+, and so far I have made it. Another plus in that department is that the garden, as small as it is, is beginning to give forth veggies.
7) I am thankful that cars have air conditioning. After sitting in the sun (no garage here) all day, the AC has to run for about 15 minutes to cool it down enough to travel in it. But without AC, I probably couldn't go anywhere.
8) I am thankful to be able to pay bills online. It saves so much time, cost of postage, and even if the man who leaked all the secrets, leaked my bank balance, he wouldn't be getting much cause I pay it all out in bills. I like being able to check my bank balance 24-7 and not have to leave home to do it.
9) I am thankful for all my blog friends online that pray when I need prayer. I never take it for granted and I cannot tell you how much it means to me. Prayer is a big part of my life.
10) I plan to have a good day and hope you do as well.
We don't always realize until we list what we are thankful for, just how many things we are thankful for.
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here, we didn't get as much wind last night as they said we might. In fact I slept through the storm with the lightening and thunder. I sleep in the family room in a recliner, and the room has a sky light, but it didn't bother me and with the hearing aids out, thunder didn't seem so bad. LOL
Still having a few little storms this morning, but nothing huge. I may put off the grocery shopping until tomorrow, have plenty of stuff we can eat.
They may get grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for lunch and I always have spaghetti and sauce in my cupboard, tonight is the night our vegetarian daughter will be over for supper, and she's going to make a loaf of Italian bread (she's a wonderful bread maker) and some Magic Bars, so all I'll need to do is make a salad to go along with it. Abe of course thinks he needs meat, so he'll get a hamburger. Daughter and Granddaughter that are living with us, will both be here for both meals.
Granddaughter likes grilled cheese and spaghetti, so she's not hard to feed. Daughter living with us doesn't have to go back to work until the week-end. She works three 12 hour shifts and then has days off. She'll be starting her last quarter of RN classes in Aug. She got side tracker, she fell at work and broke her wrist and elbow, so they gave her a desk job until the doctor said she could go back to full duty working as a PCT.
Have a wonderful day.
How well I remember the days of nursing school. I too am an RN, but retired now. Summertime - we never know what the weather will be so as a dear Aunt said one time, to get weather report, open the front door! Hope you have a wonderful Thursday.
ReplyDeleteA great list, Linda. We are so blessed. Jesse is just too cute!! So happy you are feeling good. Hope Jim's appointment went well!! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great list of blessings. I'm thankful for the opportunity to know you.
ReplyDeleteI can say I'm thankful for the internet --- I also do my banking and pay my bills online -- and I've been able to meet and chat with so many wonderful people.
I remember when my youngest grandson decided one day that he was a "big boy" and could dress himself. My daughter sent me a picture of him in his short, his mud boots and a plaid long-sleeve button up shirt. He was adorable and felt so proud of himself.
Hope you have a good day. You both are still in my prayers.
I love your list of blessings! I think a wonderful church family is one of the biggest blessings we have. I also love online bill paying. It really simplifies things.
ReplyDeleteYour list of blessings blessed me.
ReplyDeleteIt is always wonderful to stop and count one's blessings, and you have not only done that, but you have shared the joy of yours with me. Thank you, my friend.
May tomorrow bring many more blessings, sunshine, and love for you and your family.
A good list, to be sure!
ReplyDeleteI agree - it is wonderful when in a host of troubles to be able to be grateful! sandie
