ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER WEEK!

Good Monday morning!  God allowed me to wake up on earth again, and I thank Him for that.  Hope your new week will be fruitful, productive and you will be happy.
My Pastor, his wife and daughter made it home safe and sound from their mission trip, but he and his daughter both have the flu, and he couldn't preach yesterday.  Our Youth Director brought the message.  He also told us that God had called him to preach and he will be leaving our church this coming Sunday, to be the Youth Pastor at a very large church in town.  In fact, the Pastor of that church is a young man that went to school with my children, my daughter and his wife were best friends all through school and was in their wedding, and my son played basketball with him.  So, we feel blessed that our friend will be working with an old friend in preaching and teaching God's word to others.  We were of course sad that he is leaving our church family, and there were many tears shed, but we know it is God's will and we wish them the best.
We are still praying that my daughter in law will be re-hired at her old company or that she will be able to find a new job very soon.  It is sad when these big companies lay off their long time employees to save money by hiring people in foreign countries.  For those, they do not have to pay their insurance, and they sit in small cubicles and get paid a set fee, while the ones in America lose everything.   Something just isn't right about that. But the Lord knows all about it.
Tonight Jesse has a tee ball game, if the weather permits and we will try to go watch him.  He has been sick all weekend, coughing and sneezing from allergies, so hoping he is well enough to play tonight.

The picture gives you a clue as to what I will be doing most of the day today.

The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had.  ~Author Unknown

  1. Wishing your youth director all the best as he leaves for his new church. It's never fun to see one of your church members leave for another church but I'm sure you have faith that God is calling him to this new position for a reason:-) I will keep your daughter in-law in my prayers that she will be rehired by her former employer. I agree Linda, it is awful to see these big corporations letting go of employees to hire employees at a cheaper rate who live in another country. I know people have a bad impression of Unions but back in the 1990's my husbands's job was saved because the union took up the fight to protect his job. I love the quote you end your blog with! It is so true:-) Have a wonderful day and a great week ahead!!

  2. That sounds like a great opportunity for your youth director! I wish him everything good, and know you will find a replacement for him who will be just as good for your church! Your daughter's employment plight is on my prayer list. Hope you can go see Jesse play tonight! The little ones are so much fun to watch! Keep us posted about all, please!

  3. God bless your youth director. It will be sad to see them leave but if it's God's will, he will be a blessing to others too. ** That wasn't a good gift your pastor brought home with them. I hope they get well soon. ** I pray your daughter-in-law will be blessed with a job soon. These companies are so heartless. Maybe a new door will open for her soon. ** Hope Jesse feels better tonight so he can play ball. ** I like that quote. I wish you and I had that porch to sit on together. ♥

  5. I saved the photo of the laundry schedule. Sounds like mine for today. Going to post it on my Facebook. Right now I have a load in the dryer that needs folded (towels and such). My iron only gets brought to the kitchen if we're going to something special or a funeral, then I try to make the clothes look a little less wrinkled. LOL Have a great week, rainy here, but then we can use it, only thing is the grass grows really fast.
