THE LORD'S DAY!

Good morning to everyone.  I pray you will go to the church of your choice to worship our Lord.  I look forward to going and hearing the Word.
I stopped by my church and took these pictures yesterday.  The dogwood is blooming and seeing it, the flag and the steeple, just made me very thankful for the chance to worship as I please in a free country.
There is a church less than 1/4 mile from mine that is starting something new and different.  They have built a gazebo beside the regular church building, and they plan to have 'drive-in' church there.  It will be a contemporary service, wherein you can sit in your car, tune your radio to a station and hear the service.  On nice days, you can put your folding chair outside on the lawn and listen from there.  The music will be contemporary as well.  What do you think?
Their service will be at 9:30 and then they will have a traditional service at 11 in the church building.  We are so close that when I am getting out of my car to go to my church, I will be able to hear their music, etc.
My Pastor, his wife and daughter and her senior class have arrived back home from their senior/missions trip and they are all sick with the flu.  Don't know if they got it while there, or just exactly when it happened, but I doubt seriously my Pastor will be preaching this morning.  Prayers for healing.
My little grandson is also sick, but his is allergy related, after all, it is that time of year, and everything here is in full bloom.
Cali is keeping me company and making sure I give you the right information, or is she watching for my 'mouse' to move, so she can pounce on it!

Hem your blessings with thankfulness so they don't unravel.

  1. Good afternoon, Linda! What a nice photo of your church, with the flag and the blooming trees! We are blessed, indeed, to be able to worship as we want. I'm not sure about the drive -in church, but if it brings more people to Christ, I guess it's worth a try. Wishing you a good Sunday! I hope your pastor and all the kids get over their flu quickly!

  2. I'm not sure the drive-in sermon idea is the best. On one hand, anything to get people to hear the Word is a good thing, on the other hand it defeats the purpose of fellowship and discipleship.

  3. I am not for the drive-in worship. I am very traditional and I dont feel I would get much out of sitting in my car and listening to the radio, but it might encourage some to at least listen to the Word. Plus I do love the fellowship I have with my brothers and sisters in Christ, and they might frown if they could see me in my jammies! lol

  4. I think the drive-in church seems almost disrespectful to our Lord. The message it brings is that we don't have the energy or desire to even get out of our car or parking lot to enter into His house for only an hour. On the other hand it might get people who don't normally worship a chance to make that move towards Christ. I'm sorry to hear that your pastor and his family returned from their mission trip with the flu! Saying prayers that they feel better soon! That is such a cute picture of Cali! It really does look like she is about to attack the mouse..haha. Have a great week, Linda!
