1) Am thankful for the 100% rain predicted for today. As summer approaches, we usually are below level for rain, so having it now, might store it for later on.
2) Thankful that I woke up this morning, after a good night's sleep.
3) Thankful that Jim felt well enough to go to church again last night.
4) My Pastor, his wife and their daughter are in the Dominican Republic on a mission trip with their daughter's senior class. I am thankful they could go, as the Pastor of that church and head of the school, passed away two weeks ago and had asked my Pastor, before he died, if they would or could go, and without hesitation, he said yes.
5) In thinking of all that God has allowed us to have, I am so thankful. My heart goes out to the less fortunate in our city and country.
6) My 14 year old granddaughter Aryn got a letter inviting her to a recruiting class at Covenant College for basketball. She is a freshman in high school, so was excited that they want to take a look at her skills. I am thankful for her.
7) I am in charge of my Sunday School class meeting for April and will provide the meat, bread and drinks. The others bring the sides and dessert. My son is going to prepare BBQ for me, and I will just have to bring the buns and drinks. Thankful for him.
8) I got a 'friend' request on Facebook yesterday from a young man that went to school with my children, played basketball with my son, and one of my daughters was in his wedding and best friends with his wife. He is now the senior pastor of a very large church in Chattanooga. I am thankful that we have known him so long, and know his life has been lived for the Lord.
9) I have lost a little weight over the past year, and my blood sugars have been extremely good because of that. I am thankful for modern medicine and a good doctor to take care of me.
10) I am thankful for the friends I have developed from yahoo 360, then to Multiply and even though some are not on Blogger, I can still keep in touch other ways. One of those friends grew up here in Chattanooga and she, along with one of her sisters and I, all enjoy one another through Facebook. The following cross was made and sent to me by one of them, and is in my Bible as a constant reminder of that friendship.
"Smiles beget smiles,
go miles and miles with smiles."
I pray your Pastor and his family will be safe on their mission trip. ** Congratulations to Aryn. That is quite an accomplishment. ** God bless your young friend in his service to the church. ** The crocheted cross from your friend is beautiful. What a sweet thing for her to do.
ReplyDeleteLinda, that is a wonderful list of blessings!! Your bright red cross is lovely and a treasure for sure! We have rain today, too, and it is much needed. Wishing you a restful evening and a great Friday! Love & hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour cross reminds me of one my mother made for me. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteMy friend has one of those fancy sewing machines that does everything, and she made the cross on that.
ReplyDeleteI love the rain in that first picture - but it is raining here in GA and I have had enough. sandie
ReplyDeleteI had to come back to say thank you for the comment you left on my post today. You are a dear. ♥
