1) I love 'bird watching' from my rocking chair on my front porch.
2) I love the smell of grass right after it has been cut. I could almost close my eyes and tell it is knocking at the door of summertime.
3) I love going to the Dollar General Store. We have a little one in a shopping center, but hopefully by July, we will have a Dollar General Market right up the street.
4) Jim can't plant the big garden that he always has before, and I think he has accepted it, but he has two tubs and he has managed to plant tomatoes, squash, bell peppers and cantaloupes.
5) I love my knock out roses. The one by the mailbox already has a couple of blooms on it. I especially love them because they don't require constant care and will bloom when you least expect them to! (see the roses up in picture #1)
Five is what I am going to stop with this morning, but I am thankful for so much more that God gives every day.
Jim and I are going to ride to a little town north of us today. Dayton, Tennessee has a strawberry festival every year and this coming weekend is the event. We are going to beat others to the draw and see if we can get a crate of those luscious little berries today!
So much to be thankful for! I'm in agreement with you on these.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Linda! You posted a wonderful list! Good luck with the strawberries. Our season is over here. We get them in late February, early March. Sixteen finches at one time - wow! Your feeders are busy, and what fun to watch! Enjoy your ride!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for "my" birds as well. I get so much enjoyment from watching them. I can't wait until the finches return!!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are a beautiful red and your finches a beautiful yellow. :) It looks like spring/summer has arrived in your neighborhood. ** I didn't know Dollar General had super markets, but I'm not surprised. I like shopping in our little one here. I've also found out that the generic cookies they sell are very good.
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a wonderful day. ♥
We have not been to the Strawberry Festival - - and it is just up the road from us. What will you do with the strawberries - - - freeze any?
ReplyDeleteI love the Knock-out Roses, too. Have you been through Lee University when they are all in bloom? They have planted a LOT throughout the campus.
If you like birds, you will like Betsy's posts. She is in TN, too and is a sweet Christian woman. http://betsyfromtennessee.blogspot.com/ You will see she has a sidebar with the topics. Their yard is beautiful with roses and they have bird feeders in the back yard. Her testimony has a link on the side, too. It's a sweet story of how God brought George into her life.
So sweet. I love the positive feeling here. I appreciate your friendship.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you love a lot of the same things as me. God has blessed us with a beautiful world
