I am happy it is Friday, but will be even more happy on Monday when I check in to get my epidural in my back. It is amazing what modern medicine can do and I am thankful that I can have it when needed.
I had an experience of a lifetime yesterday. I went with my church family to federal court in support of a young man. The hearing was longer than we expected as there were three people involved, but in the end, the person we were there for, received his sentence and it was over. He never denied he did what he did, was humble and only was seeking mercy, which we think he got. I wish I could have taken a picture of the inside of the courtroom, as it was spectacular. You do know however, that nothing can be taken inside and the metal detectors will 'tell on you'! The following is the outside of the building.....
On a lighter note, my granddaughter's high school track team came in first and there were 35 other schools participating. They will go to regionals next week in Knoxville, Tn., and then if they qualify there, will go to the State meet the following week. GO EAGLES!
A throwback ----
Me, and a reindeer....not alive(the deer)! We were going to walk out on the Royal Gorge Bridge over the Arkansas River in Canon City, Colorado. I got out about 20 feet on the bridge and chickened out! I am terrified of heights but thought I could make it.....I couldn't, and didn't! Much prefer petting the reindeer.
We have rain moving our way for the weekend, so we will be doing inside stuff again. Hope wherever you are, it is a bright, sunshiny day!
As I am old and out of the 'loop' these days, I probably would be like this woman.....lol
Congratulations to your granddaughter's track team. That's great. ** I'm glad things went well in court. I pray this will put him back on the right track. I've been in a court room here -- jury duty -- and I didn't like it. The room was nothing I'd want to take pictures of. Maybe that was just my nerves. ** Oh my gosh! I couldn't even get close enough to look down. That would terrify me too. ** Sorry you're in so much pain. I'm sure Monday can't get here soon enough for you. Take it easy this weekend and don't hurt yourself. ♥
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Aryn and the team! That's fantastic! I'm not afraid of heights, but that bridge does look a bit intimidating! I saw the reindeer photo of FB and thought it looked 'not real', but wasn't sure! Great photo!! I'm just like the woman in the photo. You can't even call flip-flops 'thongs' anymore...the panties version is the first thing anyone thinks of now, when you say 'thongs'. Crazy! Sorry you will have a rainy weekend. Ours is supposed to be nice - just like we need it to be for Mayfaire! Good luck Monday - and yes, it is great that you can get the epidurals when you need them. I remember when you first started with them, and you thought you would be limited. Praise God. How is Jim doing, after this shot?
ReplyDeleteHa! I love the thong cartoon. :)
ReplyDeleteI hate heights too. We went to Royal gorge a few years ago. My husband and son still tease me about the way I "scurreyed" across the bridge. I was determined to do it, but there was no joy in it - I just looked straight across and walked. :)
Congrats to your granddaughter! I don't know if I could have crossed that bridge either!
