THURSDAY!

.....thoughtful, throwback or thankful?  I am blank on all 3 this morning.

I will post a throwback picture of me and see if any of you might know where I am in this one.......

Yikes, I forgotten that I had blond hair back then!  lol  My friend and I were visiting Chicago and I was a HUGE fan of this particular basketball player....hint, hint!

Thoughtful.....a sweet friend at church came over to me last night and said she could tell I wasn't feeling well, and she offered to do anything for me that she could.  She is only one of the many, many reasons I love my church family.

Thankful I am for my Lord who gave me the opportunity to live in Heaven with Him one day.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Can you tell me why the ring finger is sometimes called the medical finger?
I can tell you why, but the theory no longer holds water. For centuries, it was believed that the ring finger had a nerve running through it that was connected to the heart. The Romans and Greeks used the medical finger for stirring mixtures, especially in alchemy, with the belief that anything noxious would be immediately detected by way of some warning sign at the heart. This direct connection -- which years later was proved to be false -- was why it was chosen as the ring finger, marking the heart's sentiment. English superstition still holds that the ring finger should be used for applying ointments or salves or for scratching the skin.

  2. I just came from seeing this on Facebook. Janis guessed correctly - Michael Jordan! Not being much of a basketball fan, I know the name Michael Jordan, but not much else about him. It's a terrific photo of you, Linda, with your blond hair!

Interesting about the ring finger! I hadn't heard that. You do have a wonderful church family! Wishing you a great day!

  3. I was a huge fan back in the day of Jordan, so when my friend and I went to Chicago, I had to go to the United Center, where his team the BUlls, played their games, and we also went to his restaurant and ate lunch. I guess I was so into basketball, because Murphy was and he played and we kept up with the different big time basketball teams together. Now I keep up with Aryn! lol
