I absolutely have to cling to this verse every day now. Jim fell again yesterday in the bathroom, and it just so happened that a man who used to work for him was here, working the garden for Jim, and I ran and called out to him and he came and helped me get him up. He had been using his walker but he said his legs literally would not hold him up. I asked if he hit his head or anything and he didn't. So overwhelmed? You bet, and I don't just go, but run to my Rock. That is five times he has fallen in the last two weeks. I praise Him because there has always been someone to help get Jim up each time, because I couldn't do it by myself. God DOES hear and answer prayer.
He is eating much better though, so maybe doing so will give him a little more strength each day. All I can do is be here for him and help him and that is what I will do.
I know hearing this type news isn't what you enjoy reading, as with some other bloggers, but as my title says, it really is the days of my life and what I am doing these days.
Thank you for your faithful prayers.
Continued prayers for Jim.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless both of you, Linda.
Linda, we are here for you, and I know that I am happy that you can 'talk' to us here about your troubles and fears - as well as the fun stuff. For goodness sake, that's what friends are for. You both remain in my prayers. Would Jim consider a scooter? Now that he has accepted the walker, maybe he would consider the scooter. Actually, you see more people in the scooters than with walkers these days. He will break something, for sure, if he continues to fall with no control. So hard to deal with. Bless you for taking such good care of him. Hugs & love, Linda.
ReplyDeleteDon't ever apologize for posting news about your daily life. I'm here because I care about you and your husband. I keep praying Jim will get stronger so he won't be falling like this. Thank God you've had help when he does.
ReplyDeletePeople are full of advice and I'm not about to do that, because you're a nurse and I'm not, but is Jim doing any kind of exercises to help his muscles strengthen? Just thinking.
I hope you have a good weekend. God bless you both. ♥
Carol, the only exercise he is getting or is strong enough to do right now is walking holding on to the walker...from the livingroom to the kitchen and back...he does that several times a day, IF he isnt in extreme pain and 'zonk'd' out! I welcome any thoughts and suggestions....:-)
DeleteYou keep on writing about what is going on so we know how to better pray for you. Since someone else mentioned exercise, is he eligible for home-health physical therapy? Would he want to do that? Praise God your Jim has not broken a bone or needed stitches yet. Other than sleeping more, how is he holding up emotionally?
ReplyDeleteFriends are here in good times and in bad. You all have encouraged me through some tough times and I'll do the best I can to return the favor. Prayers will continue for Jim and for you as you care for him.
ReplyDeleteI love the verse you have claimed.
God bless!
It must be very difficult for you and quite worrisome....but you are right in placing your faith in the One who never lets us down. Hopefully Jim will get stronger as the days go by.
ReplyDeleteJim's emotional health is stable at the moment. The problem with his speech is that he slurs and sounds hoarse at times...I thought 'stroke', but dont believe that is the case, because his speech clears up, and except being forgetful, which I am too, he is pretty normal for being 81. We go to the dr. again next Friday and I am going to discuss several things, one being PT at home, his meds, etc. Will keep everyone updated and again, prayers mean the world for Jim, and for me right now too..thank you from my heart.
