DAY 3

Last night was day 3 of VBS at my church, and in addition to 64 workers, there were 117 children.  In my title picture, they are all excited and going strong during the 'penny war'.  There are two big tubs with 'boys'on one and 'girls' on the other.  There is a table at the back where anybody can purchase a brick with their pennies or offering,to put in the tub.  Every penny collected during the whole week, goes to the youth mission trip to Guyana in July.


There is a girls leader and a boys leader and at the end of the week, whoever wins, gets to put a pie in the face of the loser.  The kids really get into it and have so much fun waiting to see who wins each night.  So far, Monday it went to the boys, Tuesday to the girls and last night to the boys again!

Of course that is just a part of the VBS program.  We have seen 6 young souls saved so far and pray for more....pray for God to move in their midst.

Jim update:  Physical therapist comes today and while he is here, I may try to go buy groceries, and mark that off my list.

A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump. "Reverend," said the young man, "I'm so sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip."

The minister chuckled, "I know what you mean. It's the same in my business."

    Very cute (and profound!) thought at the end, Linda! How wonderful that you have 117 kids in VBS - and bless the 64 workers!

    Glad that you can get out for some errands while the therapist is with Jim. That has to be a big help!

    That's a good story. And so true. I've heard people say they want to "enjoy their life now, do what they want, and when the time comes for them to die, they'll accept Jesus then". Death of the body can come in a flash and they won't have time. So sad.
    Your church has a huge turn-out of kids for VBS. That's wonderful. All those little ones. Some probably have never been in a church before. I worked one year at the VBS in the church we went to years ago and we had several new children like that. It was beautiful to see how their eyes lit up. They loved it, which in turn got the parent to come to see what the buzz was about. It was great.
