ODDS AND ENDS!

Is the boat floating on air or ????  It is the Zakynthos Island,  Greece.
The water is so clear, it looks like the boat is floating in the air.
I know, I know, I detest snakes too, but this one was so beautifully colored, I couldn't resist posting.
It is a California Red-Sided Garter Snake.
There are glass igloos for rent in  Finland where you can sleep under the Northern Lights!  I think I will pass on this one!
Einstein - The World's Smallest Horse.
It's an amazing natural sight at Abraham lake with the Frozen bubbles under the ice.

Good Tuesday morning.  I got an email with these pictures and several more last night.  I have always thought that the USA was so beautiful in all areas of the country, but He didn't forget the rest of this planet either, did He?  All of His creations, all of the countries are so beautiful or unusual  in their own way.

I stumbled upon an interesting site and am planning to participate.  Check it out:  http://www.postcrossing.com/

While reading blog entries I read on one about the sharing of postcards around the world and it caught my eye big time.  I love or loved to travel when I was younger and did manage to visit every state in the US, other than Alaska and Hawaii.  Traveling, seeing other places or how others live life, has always fascinated me.  When I saw this opportunity to 'visit' other countries and see pictures on postcards, I jumped at it!  I am at the present time, on a quest to find postcards to begin my quest.
In the summertime, folks don't seem to have as much free time, but in winter when we normally spend more time indoors, I felt the postcard sharing would be fun to do.  Hasn't the Internet made a big difference in our lives?

Nothing much is going on here right now, and for that, I am thankful.  I appreciate quiet and calm, more these days than I ever have before.  Hope your week is going good so far and I wish you peace and happiness.

  3. Linda, I got that same email with those wonderful photos! Amazing beauty - you are right!! The postcard idea sounds like fun. I bookmarked the site and will check it out! Florida is a tourist destination - we have postcards down in the gift shop, here at the Museum. They are everywhere in Florida! Wishing you a good, restful day!!

  4. Those are some neat pictures. The snake has pretty colors, but I hate snakes too. One thing about that guy --- he certainly can't hide from a predator but God planned everything for a reason so who are we to question it. *** The postcard thing does sound interesting. I tried to find cards to send to a 'long-distance' friend showing a picture of my little town and couldn't find one anywhere. I'm sure you'll find postcards of your town to send.

Hope you have a nice, quiet day. Take care. ♥

  5. The post card idea sounds like fun - you'll have to keep us posted on how that goes. Love the pictures! The snake? Well...I can't stand them, but you're right this one is beautiful. Wouldn't the pattern on his back make a lovely basket?

  6. For those that commented on the post card thing, I found cards with things in and around Chattanooga on them, at Walgreens. There were right when I walked in the door...that might be an idea for some of you if you do look for cards.
That snake was something else, wasnt it? Julie, it would make a lovely basket! lol
