ZZZZAPPPP! OUCH!

Summer = bugs!  I am not a camper, nor am I one to lay out in the sun any more, but unless you take precautions, the bugs will be waiting around every corner to zap you.  Flies bite, mosquitoes bite, gnats swarm, ants everywhere, bees sting, spiders crawl and ticks bite and suck the blood out of you.............grrrrrrrrrrr.  In spring and fall and of course winter, we aren't bothered with these critters.

Speaking of camping out, I found something that would keep you off the ground and hopefully keep bugs from biting..................
Use a blow up kiddie pool and fill with pillows and blankets.  No itchy grass, no ants crawling!  Great idea!  If I slept outside, it would have to be in something like this.

We had rain yesterday and most of the night and the forecast is 70% rain today.  Rain and heat brings humidity and humidity brings bugs!  Oh joy!

Jim said this morning that he felt worse than he ever had.  Home Health person is coming today to 'admit' him and schedule the physical therapy.

I live a boring life, and have no other news or anything of interest to post, so will leave you with the following:
Today, when we value God’s Word, handle it with great care, and obey what it says, we give God the reverence He truly deserves.
The Bible stands, and it will forever
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given—
All its precepts I will obey.
God’s Word needs no additions or subtractions.

  1. I never find your posts boring, Linda. Love hearing from you! The swimming pool idea is a good one, but I would have to find one I could stretch out in! LOL No camping for me, either!

Sorry Jim is not getting any relief from his aches and pains. Hope the home health nurse is able to give him a boost. You and I both know attitude is more than half the battle, and he really seems to have just given up. I'm so sorry.

We must rely on God's word if we want to rally on! Love & hugs!

  2. I have been reading your blog everyday but am just now playing catch-up on commenting. I will be glad to hear how the home health visits go and how they are helping.
Mosquitoes - - they are almost waiting outside my door to attack me! I am one of the "lucky" ones they love to bite - - and I have very allergic reactions. I generally only put bug repellant (natural from health food store) on when I will be outside for longer than walking to the mailbox. However, I got bit three times this morning just walking to the end of our short driveway when I took the trashcans out! We have gotten rid of any standing water - - but they just thrive in our wooden area. It's okay - - I prefer inside with the a/c any day!!!
Great to hear from you as always.

  4. You always have interesting posts sweet Linda. I am sorry to hear that Jim had such a bad day. Sure hope he gets to feeling better. I am certainly not fond of all those biting critters in the summer either. That is a good idea with the pillows and swimming pool. My camping days have been over for a whole lot of years. Hugs

  6. Oh, Linda, my dear friend, I always enjoy reading the news from your part of the world and no matter what you have to say, I take in every word. It sounds like you're tired.
I hope the Home Health person can help Jim and it would be great if there was someone to help you.
We used to camp... in a motorhome. Very few bugs that way. I hate mosquitoes but they all love me. As for the 'bed', that's a cute idea, but if I don't have an indoor bunk, how about a hammock? LOL
    You take care. ♥

  7. Hi Linda,

I always read your blogs with interest. Sometimes I comment and sometimes I am just trying to read through everyones blogs for the day and don't take time to comment. I love your inspirations from the Word and the other tidbits you provide at times. I am sorry things aren't going well for Jim right now...hopefully this is just a glitch in your road and things will improve soon.
