Last night it finally stopped raining and Jim and I both had cabin fever, so we went for a ride. We seem to always ride through downtown to see what is going on there. Our riverfront is always working alive with people and people watching is the best!
Jim decided he wanted to eat at a buffet we go to now and then, but it is about 20 miles from Chattanooga. Off we go, nice late evening drive, but when we got there, it was closed for repairs. :(
Turned around and headed back to Chattanooga and ended up eating at a Chinese buffet. That isn't my favorite, but we both managed to get full.
My daughter and her family flew out of San Antonio at 8:30 and were to arrive in Atlanta around 11, then drive to Chattanooga. I haven't heard from them, but hoping they made it home safely. We will hear from them sometime today.
Our day is free, so will have to wait to see what we get into, but hope you have a good day.

What a shame... drive all that way to find your favorite restaurant closed. But like you said, you had a nice evening drive. I love Chinese food, but not all of them are worth eating at. We have 3 different ones in town but only one has food that appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video and I was amazed at the crowd in the stadium. Wow.. that's a lot of people!
Hope you had a good "free day".
I agree, all chinese places arent the same, and I have to be sure before I eat at one...lol The stadium at the University of Tenn. holds 100,000 + and is the second largest college stadium ON CAMPUS, in the US. Michigan is #1 I have been told. It is truly an awesome site on a football Saturday! Day has been lazy and good....my kind of day!
ReplyDeleteThe last time we ate at our local Chinese buffet, I got SO sick. We haven't gone back since then. Our favorite Chinese restaurant is Peking House - not a buffet, but always plenty to eat! It is maddening when you have your taste buds set for something, only to find the place not open. So sorry. Glad your rain stayed away for your ride.
ReplyDeleteLoved the video!! What awesome fans!! I'm sorry that you and Jim drove 20 miles only to find out that the restaurant was closed:-( I love Chinese food but for some reason their buffets here in Michigan are never as good as their regular restaurant. Hope your daughter and her family had a wonderful vacation!
ReplyDeleteI hate to have my mouth all set for a certain type of food and then the place be closed! We had Chinese yesterday at lunch and it was very good. Mexican food is our fav.
