Yesterday was Jesse's 5th birthday, but he is celebrating this Saturday. Murphy, my son and his Dad, is cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for friends and their families on the river property.
He did get one of his presents yesterday from his parents - cowboy boots! He has worn boots for as long as I can remember.....with shorts, his bathing suit, p.j.'s.....boots, for him, go with everything!
To prove what I said about them being worn with anything, he has on his upcoming Halloween costume on! He is going to be "the Hulk" and of course cowboy boots go with that....lol
My daughter has a special training session today and wont be through in time to pick up Aryn from school, so Nana to the rescue!
Question? Will you watch the debate tonight? Will it sway you one way or the other? I will begin watching, but probably wont be able to get all the way. Knowing the questions are made and asked from a prompter, and having seen that the candidates practice beforehand, doesn't really give me good feelings.
The Pumpkin Flood occurred in the fall of 1816 when the Ohio River "rose to an unprecedented height, overflowing its banks and bearing away on its resistless tide houses, barns, fences and whatever else would float. Many cornfields were overflowed, and the pumpkins, which grew in abundance, were carried down the stream, dotting the water so that the flood was ever after known as the 'Pumpkin Flood"
Some people think the Bible has too many rules. I wish they could see that God’s commands are for our good; they allow us to live in peace with one another. Obedience is simply the “cost” of being part of God’s family on this glorious globe He created and allows us to call home.
The Bible is not a burden
but a guide to joy-filled
living.
Happy Birthday to Jesse.
ReplyDeleteI want to watch the debates. It depends on what time I get back from Bible study. Maybe it will still be on or I will have to watch re run clips.
Have a JOY filled day!
Hi Linda! I love Jesse's cowboy boots, and of course they go with everything!! LOL He is so precious! Interesting about the pumpkin flood - I'm from Ohio and have never heard about it (though I didn't live close to the river).
ReplyDeleteI may start watching the debate, but - like you - I heard about the rehearsals and prompters. Kind of takes away from what it is supposed to be about. Also, it's all I can do to watch Obama and not puke. I really don't think I can take more than 10 minutes of his voice. I sincerely believe he is diabolical and evil, with nothing but hatred for the USA. I pray everyday that we can bring this country back to God and the principles on which we were founded nearly 240 years ago. Nothing that will be said in the debates will sway me to the left. That's for sure!
LOL...I cant stand to look at him, and told Jim yesterday, I would like to smack him....isnt that awful. I give him credit for being a good speaker, but what he says and the looks he gives, kills that for me. I wont be swayed either, so why watch and get upset!
ReplyDeleteOMG..Jessie's boots are so adorable! I think it's so darn cute that he wants to wear them with this Hulk costume!
