To be honest, I am glad Halloween is over and the happy holidays are on their way. I don't do much decorating any more, but my children do and I get to go see all of theirs and not have to put up or take down! lol My oldest daughter is kicking off the season with a Ladies Brunch at her house Saturday. This is the third year she has done it and enjoys having all the ladies in the family in her home. She does it up right!!!
The big tree I had last year finally "bit the dust" and I threw it into the trash. I may use the ladder as a tree--
----and top it with a poinsettia
OR
--use my little table tree and put it on top of
the stump table----
I love the music of the season and have been teased for years about playing it too soon, and for too long, but hey, it is my music right? lol
My new Kindle Fire HD came yesterday, so will be taking pain meds, sitting in recliner with my legs up, and when I don't fall asleep, will try to get used to the new gadget! Anyone that has one, have any tips?
Hi Linda! I'm sorry for all the sad news lately. It can really wear a person down. My prayers continue for the victims of the hurricane Sandy and I will say a prayer for your friend is is suffering the loss of her mother. I am so ready for the holidays! I want to enjoy every moment this year. I have been searching on the internet for someone selling their artificial tree. We usually have 2 trees..one in the living room (usually real) and an artificial one in the family room. They are so expensive! We bought our last one at garage sale for $25 and it lasted for years! I love the idea of a ladies brunch to kick off the season! I bet they have a great time! Enjoy your new Kindle Fire! Saying prayers that you are out of pain soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I know you are having fun with your new toy! I love my Nexus 7 and find something new about it nearly every day.
ReplyDeleteI remember your daughter's brunch from last year, and it's a great idea! I've been thinking about having Advent dinner parties for friends, each weekend of Advent. Just small groups each weekend. I'm being lazy, though, and haven't done much more than think about it. I am also thinking about not decorating so much this year. We cut back last year...sure makes it easier to put the house back in order when it's all done!
Hope your pain hasn't gotten worse, and I'm glad you are able to take it easy. Monday will be here soon, now. Hugs!!
