I am thankful for my
family.

I JUST have to add a P. S., but to the beginning,
not the end.....
GO LADY MOCS!!!!!

The UTC Lady Mocs are swarmed by their fans at McKenzie Arena after shocking the 20th ranked UT Lady Vols 80-71 Friday night in the regular season opener for both teams. The UTC victory over the Lady Vols was the first in almost four decades dating back to January 26, 1973 when the Lady Mocs won 58-55 at Alumni Gym in Knoxville before the Pat Summitt Era started two seasons later.

A DAY IN SMALL TOWN, USA!!!!

I told you yesterday that I was taking Jim to a Veterans Day celebration in Alabama where he is from originally.  I had never been before and didn't know what to expect.

The event was held in the one and only school in this area and had children from K-4 to 8th grade.

Before, check the ceiling.  This is
the gym.  I love small towns.
Filled with friends and family
Poems were read by 5th graders
Puppet show explaining each word
of the Pledge of Allegiance
Speaker - Retired Colonel, who
is now Director of Education of
entire county.
Topic of speech - Freedom Isn't Free!
Stop for lunch at Susie's Sunset Cafe
on the square in the next little town
A little 4 year old girl sang the National Anthem and she never missed a word and was loud and clear.  What a blessing.  I made a movie of her singing, but cant figure out how to add to my blog!

I was truly blessed and enjoyed the whole day, as Jim seemed to as well.

This evening we are keeping our 4 year old grandson, so that my son and wife can have a night out together.  Jesse, our grandson, met us at the car when we came in yesterday to tell us "you are keeping me tomorrow"!  He keeps us laughing and on our toes.  For one 81 year old granddad and one 71 year old Nana, we are truly blessed.

See what I mean?

  2. what a cute little guy. I'm sure he'll keep you guys busy. • I enjoyed your pictures. And what a great program. I'm so thankful that our small towns are keeping traditional values with our flag, our pledge, and our constitution. Someone in our country has to keep it alive or it will disappear altogether. • Hope you're having a great day.
