This year is winding down.  The things we leave behind...some are good...some are bad, but we must look ahead with positive thinking.  What is stuck in my head is the fact that Christ is coming back one of these days and maybe it will be while I am still living and can be taken up in the clouds with Him.  I dwell on that instead of all the bad things I see and hear on television and from other people.

We had a good day yesterday after all.  My kids stepped up and did everything.  My son helped cook, my daughters cleaned up afterward and it was better than when I had a cleaner come and got paid for doing it.

In the Chinese exchange I got a super nice gift.  It is a bird feeder made from things in a kitchen.  The bottom saucer is where you put the bird seed and the top is a little cream pitcher, where you put the water.  What a super idea someone had.  My daughter bought it at a craft market, and even included a bag of bird seed!

Jim gave me a new coffee maker!  The one I have is on it's last legs and I hadn't even mentioned it to him, but he obviously knew it, and the new one does everything but talk to you!  It filters the water, and even has a cleaning button.  Can't wait to use it.

All the little ones seemed to be pleased with the gifts they got; the food was wonderful - sausage, tenderloin, country ham, blackberries, blueberries, eggs and biscuits, so all in all, it was a very good day.

Everyone left about 4, and Jim and I both settled in our chairs for a nap....lol  Not a long winter's nap, but just enough to rest and get ready for bed!  lol

Neither of us is going to attempt going to church this morning, but maybe, hopefully, by next week, we can go.  Praying my doctor can work his magic on my back and leg, and praying Jim's strength returns and his pain subsides as well.

God bless everyone and I pray for a Happy New Year.

  1. So glad you had a good time with your family. What a clever idea for the bird feeder.
That's a great coffee maker. Didn't know they made one with a cleaning button. That will come in handy.
Take care and God's blessings for you and your family in the new year.

  2. It is great that the family breakfast gathering went on, as planned, and that the "kids" did all the work, including clean-up! Looks like a great coffee maker. We must have our coffee!! The bird feeder is a great art piece, from found objects! Beautiful. Do continue to rest and take care!! You remain in my prayers (Jim, too!). Hugs & love.
