FINALLY FRIDAY!

....thus, I have bruises and cuts on my arms constantly.
See.........one arm has bandaids and the other just the spots!  If I bump into or just scrap by anything, I have a bruise.  Old age isn't much fun!

Good basketball game last night in some ways, and a bad incident too.  The team won, Aryn scored 18 points and had a double double, but one of her teammates fell and they fear she has a torn ACL.  The team doctor examined her but without an xray couldn't be sure, so she is set to be in his office first thing this morning.  This girl is a vital part of the team and we are all praying it is possibly just a sprain.

Aryn ^

Jim and I are going to visit a new grocery store in a little town about 20 miles south of us.  My son discovered it and was really impressed with the cleanliness and the order of the store.  He also was happy with the prices, so of course we have to go too!  The only grocery store we have that is in our immediate area is Walmart, and we don't like shopping there unless it is absolutely necessary.  We did have a Bi Lo and a Food Lion, but both closed.  Since then we have to buy our milk and bread at the local Dollar General Store, which of course has no veggies or meat, etc.

Ok, that's my news....have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!

I have a heavenly Father who loves me deeply and sacrificed His Son for me. How can I do anything less than give my very best for Him?

  1. Hope that girl is OK. Congrats to you super star. She really has a future.
Can relate to fragile skin. I judge a job these days by how many band-aids it takes to do it. Old age ain't easy but it is colorful with all the blues, purples and reds.

  2. Good afternoon to you. I don't blame you about not wanting to grocery shop at Walmart. I just go to the samller Save a Lot grocery store for most things and the Dollar General for my soaps and things.

Congrats to your granddaughter on her 18 point scores. She does great!
Prayers the girl who was injured recovers quickly

    Happy weekend to you

  3. Hi Linda... I know what you mean about the bruises. It isn't fun at all.
    I hope Aryn's team-mate is ok.
WalMart has a reputation that once they open in a new place, 2 or 3 local small businesses will be forced to close down. They also have a goal of having their stores no farther apart than 20 miles of each other. I've also learned that not all WalMarts charge the same prices. Therefore, we have 4 stores around us, and the one south of us has better prices than the one here in town.
    You have a great weekend.

  4. Hi Linda. I'm just catching up! I don't bruise quite as badly since I was switched from warfarin to Pradaxa, but I still have to be more careful than 20 years ago! Getting old ain't for sissies, that's for sure.

Glad Aryn's team won and that she did so well again, but sure hate hearing about her teammate. Keep us posted, please.

We are fortunate to live in the town where Publix was born. There is a Publix in nearly every neighborhood. If not Publix, there is a Winn Dixie. We also have three Walmarts, a Super Target, Sweetbay, Aldi, two Sam's Clubs, as well as Dollar Generals, WaWa's, 7-11, Stop and Shops....we can't walk to any, but have several options within 3-5 miles or our house. I guess we are fortunate (and could walk, if we had to). We do go to Walmart for some things - mainly toiletries and cat products and food. The prices make it worth the extra stop and fighting the crowds.

Wishing you a good Sunday!! Love & hugs.

  5. So sorry to hear about Aryn's teammate! I sure hope it is nothing serious. I am in the process of trying to find a new grocery store. My old one was only 1 mile away but they just recently closed. I have been trying out the others in my area and I just can't find one that I like as much as my old one.
