My son in law and granddaughter arrived home, safe and sound from skiing. It sure was pretty there........
Her Mom and sister and Jim and I went to eat at one of our favorite Italian restaurants and had a good time talking, laughing and teasing. I love my family!
Jim came in from work yesterday and said as of 2 pm, he was retired. He sold his trucks and equipment to his partner and is done. As he will be 81 in May, I think it is about time, don't you? lol I am so glad he feels the relief of paying insurance, making sure all his license are current, paying all the bills, making sure the crew is there, working, checking on the work, and on and on. He has worked and owned his own company for 60 years. I knew he had made an offer to his partner before Christmas, and he just now came and accepted it. Jim's health has been a key too.
Our son called last night and wants to cook dinner for us this evening, and of course we were thrilled. He is a good cook, just like his Dad. I accepted his offer of course!
God bless you and yours!
What a relief for Jim, and for you, that he can relax now and be done with the worry of a business! Nice that your son will cook for you tonight - a celebration?! Love the ski photos, but it is not something I have ever cared about. I did go skiing once. That was enough!
ReplyDeleteI am going to tinker around, doing a few things today, then need to start getting ready for the big Gala event tonight. I thought about going out to have my nails polished, but for goodness sake, I can polish my own nails!! More to follow! Enjoy your day!
Wonderful! Enjoy your dinner! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of their skiing trip. I'm thinking I may kick back and "play" all day. I have SO much I should be doing but my 'get up and go has got up and went'.
ReplyDeleteHaving your son cook for you today sounds like a great idea. I'm jealous. :) Enjoy.
Congratulations to Jim on his retirement. It sounds like he deserves it and I wish him lots of fun days ahead.
I think that is awesome news about Jim's retirement! Good for him..after 60 years of owning his own business it is time for him to relax and enjoy some time with his family!! Congrats, Jim!
ReplyDeleteThe skiing trip pictures are beautiful! What an awesome trip for a dad and daughter to take together!
