I have to post this picture because most of this blog will be talking about basketball in one way or the other.
Last night was the basketball banquet for the high school that Aryn attends. It was held at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club and from the pictures, looks like they had a really good time.
Several awards were given out and she won the "Eagle" award, which is what we used to call the MVP, but it encompasses leadership in a bigger way to them. Here she is with her two coaches:
Aryn has a good relationship with both of them. The one in the red shirt was her coach in middle school and he moved up when she did, to be assistant coach to the high school team. The one in the white shirt is the main coach and he has helped tremendously in promoting her to colleges around our area.
Speaking of colleges, her head coach gave her a letter at the banquet from the University of Tennessee at Martin, which is the medical school for UT and it is in Memphis, TN. At this point in time, Aryn thinks she might like to pursue a career in physical therapy, and this school has a pre-PT course. Her basketball hero, Pat Summit, went to UT Martin, so that meant a lot to Aryn to get a letter from there too!
This is a picture of her whole team for the 2012-13 year.
Needless to say, we are happy and proud of her and the whole team for the effort they put forth, and hopefully they will grow and just get better each year.
Gotta cut this short as Jim and I are headed out on this dreary, rainy, windy day to an IHOP for breakfast. YUM!
God grant you a good day.
We love IHOP's breakfasts! That would brighten any dreary day!!
ReplyDeleteAryn is a very special young woman, for sure! Basketball will help her reach her goals!
