A NEW DAY, A NEW WEEK!

2nd Peter 3:10

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

The people out west, in Arizona, California and other states probably feel the end of the world is nigh.  When I saw on the news this morning that 19 firefighters were killed and that the roaring fires were NOT contained at all, I would  have to think the same.  Such a tragedy and the hot summer months have just begun.
But, we can take heart, as it says in Matthew 24:36:
"But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

Every day on the television or in the newspaper or radio, all we hear is bad news.....murders, thefts, abuse of children, bombings, torture, etc.  I made a decision a few years ago to just not listen to or read the news for several months.  I am thinking that I need to begin that process again.  If I didn't know the Lord and trust Him with my life, I could easily have a nervous breakdown just listening to all the bad things going on in this world today.

Read Matthew 24.  Everything needs to be fulfilled before He returns.  We just need to stay the course and trust Him every single day of our lives.

Today is the day that the Google Reader is shutting down.  I have Feedly and Bloglovin already set on my computer so that I wont lose any of the blogs I follow and am able to read daily.  I am going to put a button for each on my blog page so that anyone can find me.  Change, we gotta luv it!

I need to do lots of picking up, straightening up, cleaning up around here today, so I had better shut this addicting machine down and get busy.  Have a wonderful day .

  2. I am using The Old Reader...but I don't think we have to worry.
I don't think our Dashboard won't be affected on Blogger, so I'm going to go on as usual!!
I love your sunflower on your header, Linda. It is gorgeous!!!!

  3. Wow! That is a big bright sunflower!
That is so sad about the fire fighters and those roaring flames. Yes, the hot summer months are just starting. I feel so bad for them. My brother in TX has already seen several days of triple-digits.
I have Bloglovin too but since it only collects the new posts just once a day, I don't always use it. I try to catch those new posts right after you write one. I'm still using the Dashboard and I hope it won't be affected.
As for the news, it can be very upsetting, but we've always said we must stay vigilant to what's happening and not bury our heads in the sand. There's so much happening in DC, trying to take our rights away and the changes they want to do that affects our lives, we want to be aware before it happens.
All I can say is.... come quickly Lord Jesus! ♥

What is google reader this? I don't know why it is but I have never really been able to get into blogger for any length of time or consistency. Summers going to be busy too. I am going to be gone a couple weeks to my home state.

I guess I still haven't got through some things.

  7. We can certainly be brought down by the constant bad news. You are right about that! Also right that we have to trust in the Lord. Not always easy, but we must do our best.

I'm using Feedly and have been for awhile now. I like it okay. I sure liked Multiply better. Sigh.

    1. I downloaded Feedly and then either I did something wrong or something, because I cannot get it to come back up to save my life. I have deleted it entirely and thought I would try again tomorrow. I still have bloglovin and to be honest, I dont like either one very much. I probably wouldnt know how to even operate Multiply any longer. Did Tristan stay?
