We had a lazy day yesterday. We napped, and then about 5ish, Jim asked if I wanted to go somewhere to eat. We went to one of our favorite 'Mom and Pop' places. They have the best home-made coconut pie and that is Jim's favorite. I had chicken casserole and he had a veggie plate, plus the pie. The pies continue to be yummy, but as for the other - we wont be going back there for a bit...it just wasn't good. Disappointing!
I am officially old! We were sleepy so went to bed fairly early - 8:30....but our dear son, living next door, chose last night to finish shooting off the fireworks he couldn't shoot on the 4th of July. Needless to say, I didn't finally fall off to sleep until after 11 PM. Not a happy camper!
RUNNING TO CHURCH.................
A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, ‘Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late! Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late!’
While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again!
As she ran she once again began to pray, ‘Dear Lord, please don’t let me be late…But please don’t shove me either!’
My first 'postcrossing' card that I received is from Hong Kong. The woman mentioned in her writing that Hong Kong was beautiful at night. I received an email from a long time friend yesterday with some incredibly beautiful and unusual pictures attached. One was Hong Kong at night!
Happy Sunday.
Hope you can worship at the church of your choice.
You know I will!
Oh I know about those late night fireworks. The neighbor's grandsons were shooting them off late one night. I really didn't feel too bad, when the next morning, our builders started sawing and running air compressors at 7am. Justice was served, as the boys were sleeping in a tent!!
ReplyDeleteCoconut pie is JOhn's fav also. I am glad our neighbor's are finally running out of fireworks!
ReplyDeleteI like that little story. It's cute. I love coconut pie too... actually most any pie ... but it's too bad their other foods weren't good. Not fair.
ReplyDeleteI still hear fireworks going off at night from all 4 directions. All these people are probably doing the same thing. Better to shoot them off than try to store them until next year.
Hope you have a good afternoon. Maybe you can get in a nap.
Take care. ♥
Yum on the coconut pie! Now I want some! We still have fireworks going off at night, too. They have to run out of them soon, I hope! A nap actually sounds almost better than coconut pie right now! LOL Have a good evening, Linda!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric cross in your header! Fireworks are still being shot in our area later at night, too.
ReplyDeleteI think that's so neat about the Hong Kong at night coincidence! I'm glad you're enjoying your new hobby. I'll be waiting to hear more fun things about it as time goes on.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to church services on Sunday and on Wednesday. I do hope that the remainder of your weekend was a great one.
ReplyDeleteYour background and header are lovely!
The Hong Kong photograph at night is stunningly beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with me.
Hugs,
Jackie
What a cool coincidence that was to receive a night photo of Hong Kong! It's going to be fun hearing about the cards as you get them.
