RAIN, RAIN AND MORE RAIN!

Temperatures are wonderful, but we are to have rain today and all weekend. Oh well, strange August for us, as it is normally very hot and dry, and it has been neither so far.  Fall is in the air.  As my heading indicates, I should get lots of computer time!

My daughter invited me to come to her house for lunch today.  She knows I need a getaway now and then, and she is very thoughtful to ask me today.  She and her family are leaving this afternoon for a weekend of soccer in Asheville, N.C., and she took the time to ask me anyway.

I have no news, so instead of I am asking for prayer.  My daughter in law had an interview for a job, but they wont make a decision until 9-9, and she has applied for another in the meantime.  My son's business has all but hit bottom and they are in serious financial trouble.  With two children in school, it is hard in so many ways.  I am asking if you would just pray and ask God to send work for my son, and a job for my DIL, according to His will.  They are both willing to work, if the job would come their way.  Thank you.

The Lord gives us His grace and strength to endure the trials of life as we look forward to His return.
Dear Lord, thank You for the grace You give us to live
each day for Your glory. We look forward to the day
when You return, all evil will be extinguished, and
we will live with You in perfect harmony forever.
Jesus is coming—perhaps today!

  1. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. You know, Linda, I have said this before, but I so look forward to coming here everyday, you make me smile with your background changes and your sharing of family news. PS The mornings here are crisp (45-50*) and the days nice. Blessings

  5. Prayers offered and will continue for your dear son and DIL, Linda. Times are tough right now for so many. Prayers!!!

Enjoy your get-away lunch and I hope you get a break from the rain. We are still hot and steamy here, with rain from the tropical storm heading our way this weekend.

  6. How wise you are to seek prayer for your son and your daughter-in-law. God is and always will be there for us, and we are more than privileged to go to Him in prayer seeking His will. Count on prayers from me to our Lord on their behalf, my friend. May God continue to watch over this sweet family and take care of their every need.
    Love you,
    Jackie

  7. Praying for you and your family. I've seen God do some amazing things lately in the lives of those I love. Keep the faith.
Our weather has been beautiful the last couple weeks. Mild days and cool nights. Perfect. But today our weather man said to expect 'above normal temperatures' this weekend and all next week. I've thought we've had a long spring but I look for a hot Sept. We'll see.
You have a great day. ♥

  8. Sweet Linda that is nice that you and your daughter get to have lunch together. I will for sure keep you son and DIL in my prayers. We have not had a lot of hot weather this August either but it has been humid. We have had a couple of nice rains but it was needed to help with getting us out of the drought conditions we have been in. Have a blessed weekend! Hugs

  10. It's been a real cool August for us in Southeast Georgia too. Must be 'global warming'. *lol* Prayers for your son and dau.-in-law to find work. Good luck to them. There's not much out there. I know it's not much consolation, but I think we're all in financial straights right now. We're old and our finances are dwindling by the day in the [cough] supposedly non-existent inflation. It's scrary out there. Prayers for all of us to survive the next three years or more too.

    1. You are 100% right about our finances, age etc. We just have to stick together til the Lord comes and takes us home.
