RECESS!

Don't you just bet the kids that are going back to school or are already there, look forward to recess or break time?  I know the little ones do because they need to run off some of that energy, and the older ones do just to get out of class!

Hey, we oldies but goodies like play time too don't we?  lol  After the past week, I feel like a kid again and know that life is not all serious and play time is much needed to give us our balance.  I was told to take more time for me, and relax and have fun.  It may not seem like relaxing to you, but when I can go see any of my grandchildren participate in theater, sports, anything, that is my fun/relaxing time.  I did go see the first volleyball game for Aryn in her 10th grade year, this past Saturday.  It was a play day, where they only played 30 minute games and there were 8 teams participating.
She plays the position of Libero, who only plays back row, but they are allowed to go in and out the game as much as they need. The Libero must wear a different jersey than the rest of the team to differentiate between them and the rest of the team. They do a lot of rolling and digging to keep the ball in play!  She played in 8th grade, but did not play last year, but came in this 10th grade and played like she had never missed a game.  She is just a natural athlete and so competitive in anything she does, she wants to win!!!!

Her little sister, who went to the 6th grade and middle school this year was really into the game.....can you tell?  She is a girlie girl, drama and making 100 on every subject is her thing!

On to my other 'child', Cali.  She has discovered her Papaw's wheelchair, and it is her new perch.  When I had to go to the hospital last week, she got mad because I wasn't there to pet her, so she went over to the 'dark' side - Papaw!  When I came home, she totally ignored me as if to say, 'you leave me old lady and I will find a new love!'

Church was wonderful yesterday.  I just cant tell you how God is working in our midst.  I see it every single time I go.  I had a nice surprise.  A young lady, whose family moved to Michigan over the summer, and she is staying here to graduate from high school, as it is her senior year, surprised me by coming to church and sitting with me.  We were standing to sing, and she walked up and asked if she could sit and we hugged and hugged.  She plays sports too, and my granddaughter's school and hers, play each other.  Whether they win or lose, she comes across the floor and hugs me!  I gave her my telephone number and told her to call if she ever needed a ride, as she is staying with a family close to my house.

God is good.  All the time.  I am leaving you today with a video that a friend posted on Facebook.  It is probably one of the best things I have seen in a long time.  Please take the time to watch, and I wish you a happy Monday!  Click and watch!

  4. We all need a recess occasionally.... time to "play", doing whatever makes us happy and clears our heads. So glad you had a good weekend. ** The girls look like they're having fun with their own things. That's what makes them special. Hope they both have a great school year. ♥
