1) I am so thankful that my doctor always gives me a prescription for pain medicine after he does the epidural. He says it is better to be prepared when the pain does hit, than have to worry about calling or going into the office. He knows his business!
2) I am thankful that my family understands that I will do all I can, while I can, but when the back/leg pain comes back, I can do very little, and they step up to help.
3) I am happy for this low humidity, cool mornings and evenings we are having. I am not a summer person, so this makes me feel like fall is not far down the road.
4) It is so hard to believe that it is almost time for school to begin again here. I am thankful my grandchildren all have good schools to attend and even though they dislike getting up early, they enjoy school and look forward to going - mostly to see friends again! lol
5) I am thankful the riding lawn mower has been repaired and now the grass will be cut and we wont look like we live in a jungle any longer!
6) I am thankful that, as a geezer, I can remember the following with a smile.........
7) I am thankful that I made it til August 1st and can still remember most things.
8) I added some more color to my kitchen window, and am thankful when the sun shines and makes the colors so bright. The African Violets must love them too, because they are blooming their little hearts out!
9) I am thankful for a local thrift store, where I have been twice lately, and updated my fall and winter wardrobe. I can literally buy a full sack of skirts, sweaters, etc. for $30.00 or less. Thanks to all who donate the clothes they are tired of or have out-grown, because now I can wear them!
10) I am thankful for the friends that I have made through Blogger and enjoy getting to know them more every day.
Geezer Crossing..... LOL I like that. It's so good that your family is understanding and help you if you're unable. Too many times the 'grown kids' still expect Mom to do it all like she did years ago. I try but I have limits too.
ReplyDeleteThe schools are preparing to open here too. The summer went by way too fast. I think my 2 youngest gr-sons are ready. They like school and can't wait to see their friends too.
Yes, I remember the 'good times' very fondly. And we turned out ok... I think. LOL
I'm thankful for the friends I've made online too. A great bunch of people I would never have known without the internet. Especially you. Thank you for the nice comments you left me. You're a special lady. ♥
I smiled at the Geezer Crossing sign, too, Linda! Very cute. I could put it in our hallway at home!
ReplyDeleteIt's great having a good doctor you can trust, and who trusts you, too.
Summer has just flown by here. School starts in a couple of weeks, and my ride to work each morning will be crowded again, with kids rushing to beat the bell and the teachers right behind them. There is no traffic for me in the summer, at 6:45-7:00, but that isn't the case once school starts. If I leave 5 minutes late, I can count on getting stuck behind at least one school bus, too. Sigh.
I sure do remember those days, and long for them. I feel sorry for kids today, who are missing so much because of technology!
Glad you're Dr is taking good care of you.
ReplyDeleteSchool starts the 12th here. I'm a bit bummed about it.
I love the geezer crossing sign, however, I wouldn't classify you as one!
ReplyDeleteHope the legs feel better quick!
Hiya Linda! I can understand your pain. My husband has deg. disc & restless leg syndrom(and he is only 47!) Many days are not good ones. I have no idea how this winter will be for him (this will be our very first winter up north).--anyways-thank you for your thank you list. Praying for you my new friend.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to your husband. He is so young to have that problem already. Mine is deg. disc (3) and the epidurals are the only way I can manage to exist. I will NOT have surgery. My husband did and it has been awful since. I will pray for your husband and you as you care for him.
DeleteGreat list, Linda! I love the colorful bottles you placed in your kitchen window! We still have another month before the kids will head back to school. It will be here before you know it. Thrift stores rock!!
ReplyDeleteMany good things for which to be thankful! I was here last night, but I guess Blogger was holding out on me, nothing was showing up past Wednesday! Well, at least I'm here now, but I missed the geezer crossing everyone is talking about.
ReplyDeleteYour bottles are lovely!
