BITS AND PIECES!

It is one of those days that make you smile....sunshine, cool temps, weekend, and you can almost smell fall. When I got up, the fog had set in, but now is gone and it is bright. I slept until 8 and that is late for me, so guess I needed that extra time.

We went to our granddaughter Caroline's house for supper and birthday cake and ice cream. She helped her Mom make and ice her own birthday cake and they made homemade chocolate ice cream to go with it.  She and her sister Elizabeth, love to cook and my daughter is so patient with them.  She is 8 and her sister is 5 and they always set the table and then clear it afterward. Today is her 8th birthday and she and her family are headed for Atlanta and the zoo.  She wanted the grandparents to come last night and celebrate.  She is such a delightful little girl and it is refreshing to see a child that is happy with any type or kind of gift.  She never 'expects' or gets upset at her presents....she is just thrilled.  We had such a good time.

Speaking of nice cool mornings, this is a picture of our little 'fake' fireplace heater.  I didn't realize until I transferred the picture to the computer, that you can see my feet in my house shoes in the picture...lol  It really heats the room well and it is 110 vs 220 on the electric bill!

What name does your sweetie call you?  That special nickname that he uses only for you.  Jim calls me Lint....now how sweet and special is that....lolololol  That's OK though, because I call him Lloyd.  Don't have a clue how we started those names, but they have stuck!

  1. I like the 'fireplace'. It has that antique look, even with your slippers. :)
The terms of endearment... for us it's just Honey, both ways. I very seldom hear him call me by name, unless we're in public.
    I like your nicknames. Lint?
    Have a great weekend.

  2. Caroline and her sister are sweet girls; they have been raised correctly, and I am so happy to read what wonderful girls they are.
Happy birthday, Caroline. May God continue to bless you.

  3. Awesome post, Linda! Happy Birthday Caroline. My husband & son (yes, longgggggggggg story) call me Honey. I don't think anyone knows my name. Seriously, various family members call me different names. My husbands uncle calls me "niece", in the 32 years I have been part of this family, he has never called me Linda. How funny is that? Terms of endearments indeed. Have a blessed Saturday.

  4. What a fun birthday celebration! Your grands are all precious!

I know you are enjoying that wonderful weather! I love your nicknames! Joe and I don't really have 'real' nicknames, though we do use an Italian pronunciation now and then. LOL

I'm trying to catch up with everyone, after being without my computer since Friday night. Slow but sure...
