I know my blog says it is 14 more days til fall, but I just cant wait, thus my title picture and background this morning.

I have run out of things to post.  I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I started to just type 'blog block' and shut down, but as you can see, I didn't and couldn't.

I would ask for prayer for my Pastor's Dad who had a stroke last night. He lives in West Virginia and I know it is hard for my Pastor to have not been there and he may go this morning, I haven't heard yet.  He and his wife were just here and had spent 2 weeks with the Pastor and his family.

Today Jim is much better and I am worse.  It is a see saw around here. My legs, back and left hand are hurting pretty bad and I am going to have to give in and call the doctor Monday.  An epidural will help my back and legs.  I then have to call the hand specialist who did the surgery on my right hand and go see him and what he can do for me.

We made some chocolate homemade ice cream yesterday and so far, it is our favorite.  If you have a Cuisinart ice cream maker, here is the simple recipe.....pint of whipping cream, can of Eagle Brand; mix those two together, and pour in maker; fill the rest of the way up with chocolate milk.  Soon you will have yummy, smooth, creamy chocolate ice cream.  The leftover freezes beautifully, and we have enough for a couple of days.

I am attending the Ladies Banquet at my church today.  It is always such a good time, good food, speaker, and sweet fellowship.  Guess I will just have to take something for pain so I can make it. Someone gave me a ticket so I feel I have to go.

  4. I'm ready for fall too. My favorite season. I make that ice cream but I use my mix master. My grands love it when I flavor it with peppermint and add green food coloring. A few mint baking chips can't hurt either. Enjoy the luncheon!!!

  5. Beautiful header on your blog.
I feel the fall temperatures here in the mountains, but when we return home (South Georgia) I am afraid that fall won't be there for a long while.
I'm glad that Jim is feeling better. That is answered prayer, and I thank our Lord for that.
I'm sorry that you are in pain, Linda. Prayers are that you feel better. Take care of you.
The ice cream sounds delicious! I haven't had homemade ice cream in years.
Sending you love and hugs as you enjoy the banquet at church today. May being with Sisters in Christ refresh you mentally, physically, and spiritually.

  6. That chocolate ice cream sounds easy and delicious. Sounds like it may be something like Wendy's Frosty. I'll be trying that one.
So sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I pray the pain lets up so you can enjoy the banquet today.
I like your background and title picture too. So pretty. Take care. I'll be thinking of you. ♥

  7. Some of my new friends dont know....I had the right thumb joint replaced about 4 years ago....I knew the left was going to have to have the same things, just didnt know when. The cartilage wears out and the dr. takes a piece from my wrist and makes a new joint! After surgery it doesn't ever hurt, now...it is painful to open a door, twist a cap off, or anything that requires much work. I have new knees, will have two thumb joints.

I will be like the bionic woman and leap tall bldgs. with a single bound!!!

  8. So sorry to hear about the severe pain. Been there, done that before I was diagnosed with the Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and had corrective surgery. Until then, I was a mess! Pain, drugs, pain, drugs, pain, drugs. It never seemed to end. Prayers for your healing. I pray that the docs will figure out what's wrong and be able to fix it all. We're just like machines, aren't we. Always breaking down. Then the warranty runs out. [ha ha]

I do like homemade ice cream. We've been putting Splenda in ours and that cuts down on the calories and blood sugar complications. Been making it by hand with Ziploc bags. I'll tell Sweetie to look for a Cuisinart. Sounds much easier to use than the Ziplocs. Thanks for the tip!

Get well soon. God bless. ~:)

  9. Linda, your background is beautiful and even makes me want to see the falling leaves! I'm so sorry for your pain, and hope they can get you in soon for the epidural. Also sorry you are facing surgery for your thumb, but the end result is good. Prayers have already begun for both of these concerns. Nice to hear that Jim is better today! He remains in my prayers. I will also include your Pastor's dad in my prayers and hope he can recover well from the stroke.

Now, about that ice cream. I sounds like it will taste like a Wendy's Frosty! I will for sure have to try it....maybe tomorrow!

Please let us know how your women's luncheon was today! Love & hugs.

  10. The ice cream, when chocolate, does look and and taste very much like a Wendy's Frosty. The luncheon was very nice...will post pictures tomorrow. (What is the name of the medicine you take instead of Coumadin?)
