MONDAY, MONDAY...

The coffee is especially good this morning.  I think it is the cool temperature outside but whatever, I'll take it.

I had an especially good day yesterday.  Let me give you some background.  I attend one church and Jim attends another.  There has never been any problem with that, although a little unusual I guess.  He has been with me many times and is comfortable there. My church has Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night services.  His only has Sunday morning.

I got dressed and said, 'see you after church', and he said, 'be careful', and off I went, assuming he was going to church.  Well, he did go, but to mine!  He had talked with my Pastor and moved his membership to my church yesterday morning.  What a wonderful surprise and thankful that we can now worship side by side.

Another little pleasure we received was some homemade ice cream that my son made....it is chocolate covered cherry and absolutely WONDERFUL!
He used a Hershey bar and shaved it into the mix and cut up some cherries, added almond extract and the basic ingredients.  Man...I thought the pistachio was my favorite, but this one is by far the best!

No appointments, no places we have to go or be this week, so I am looking forward to just enjoying the weather and resting my old legs...epidural 10-7.

ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMERS ALMANAC FOR THE LAST SEVEN DAYS:

Thunder in September brings plenty of snow in February.<<<<<
Wisdom is oftimes nearer when we stoop than when we soar.
    Deodorize thermoses with salt water.
Harvest and tie up small bundles of dried, woody-stemmed herbs

    like

bay, lavendar, or rosemary to scent your evening fires.
Rub a slice of cucumber on an ant bite.
To keep the whites of poached eggs from running,

    add a little vinegar

     to the water.
    To stop choking, look up.
When closing up a summer house, run a cycle of warm water and 1

cup vinegar through the washing machine and dishwasher before

    draining the pipes.

    1. Tammy, it is made with his Cuisinart ice cream maker...electric and takes about 30 minutes to make. Wonderful invention. We have one too and love it. No ice, no turning the handle, just plug it in and sit back and wait.

  2. How wonderful, and what a nice surprise that Jim changed his membership back to your church. I seem to remember that he was a founding member of your church, then started going somewhere else? What a wonderful blessing!

The ice cream looks delicious, and nice of your son to share! When we make ice cream, I'm not anxious to share it with anyone else! :)

September is scooting along at a fast clip. October 7th will be here before we know it. Prayers continue!

    1. Yes Terri, you are right....he is a founding member and was glad to come back 'home'. You certainly know that feeling regarding your church too.

  3. What a blessing to have your husband by your side in church. I had almost a year of going by myself until Bob gave in to the Lord and went to church with me. He ended up becoming very involved, even taught adult Sunday school for awhile. And as they say, the rest is history. God's blessings on you both.
Those are some good bits of wisdom. I didn't know about the thunder in Sept. We heard a couple rumbles with the rain we got last week but I think Ohio always get plenty of snow in Feb. hahaha
Anything with chocolate and cherries is #1 in my book. That looks so delicious.

  5. Linda, that is just wonderful news about your husband!!! Praises to the Lord. --we make our own icecream as well..it is just cheaper, well use to be. Down south ice cream was expensive, here, it is only $2.29 a gallon for Breyers. ANYWAYS--Awesome news, so happy for you. Blessings (ps..I like your new background, very pretty!!)

  6. My heart rejoices with you with the family decision. I'm not a church person but I know it's important to some folks. I believe in Jesus Christ and thankfully, that's all He requires of us to be saved in this "age of grace."

I'm gonna have to get me one of those Cuisinart's some day! That sure looks tasty.

    God bless. ~:)

Praying for you that your pain will be slight and that the epidural will go well. I haven't had much of an appetite since surgery but the ice cream looks delicious.
