Feeling a little sentimental!

Holiday time is a happy time, but also a sad time for some.  I always tend to think of my family that is gone - all of them.  I am an only child and if I didn't have Jim and my children and grandchildren, I would be alone. My parents divorced when I was 3 and I never saw my Dad.  My Mother died when I was 34. Grandparents before that and all aunts and uncles too.  But glad I can get this sadness behind me before the actual holidays arrive.  Good, happy memories.

Murphy did pick up my glass ornament yesterday morning, and I am so happy about having it on the tree this year.  It will always be very special.

Aryn has another basketball game tonight, also with a school that isn't in their district.  I guess they schedule these first to give them some experience before we begin the regular season.

This coming Sunday is our Homecoming/Friends Day at church.  We have the morning worship then go to the activity center and have lunch, then back to the sanctuary for an afternoon service.  No evening service. We all cook the sides and desserts and the church furnishes the turkey and hams.  Jim is going to make the dessert for us to take - White cake with cream cheese icing and raspberry filling.  See, I told you he is definitely the cook in our house!  Similar to the one below----

Just got a call from my daughter asking if Grayce could spend the night tomorrow night.  They had bought tickets to take Aryn and a friend to Nashville to a Justin Timberlake concert for her Christmas present.  Of course I said yes, so will enjoy being with G.  I will pick her up from school tomorrow.  She is a delight!
