12 DAYS AND COUNTING!

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat,
Please to put a penny in the old man's hat:
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do,
If you haven'tgot a a'penny,
God bless you!
December comes from the Latin word decem meaning 'ten' because this had been the tenth month of the early Roman calendar.

Aryn and the other captain of the girls basketball team, were on the radio yesterday, promoting the "Hoops For Hope" basketball tournament tomorrow.  The proceeds will go this year to 6 young people for their college scholarships.  These young folks had or have a parent dealing with cancer or that has died from the dreaded disease.

I recorded the show, but it is too long to post here.  This is the second year this tournament has been held at their school, and the 5th year it has been held.  It will move to another school in our area.

Grayce, my 12 year old granddaughter, will be going to her first dance.  The middle school is the 6th through the 8th grades, and it is held at their school.  She got to buy a fancy dress to wear and I will post pictures tomorrow.  One of the girls is having a pre-dance get together, then they will all go  afterward to the same house for a sleep-over.  My oh my, how I would love to hear them telling about it, and giggling!

Jim is some better, after getting the antibiotics on board and continuing to take the Mucinex.  I understand this 'crud' is running rampant.

Laundry is calling my name, so I must go.  Have a great Friday and enjoy the season.

  1. Good to hear from you, Linda! Christmas is just around the corner now. I'm sure in a couple of weeks we'll all be asking where the time went. Glad to hear Jim is feeling better (I love Mucinex!). Can't wait to see Grayce all dressed up for her first dance!!

  4. Sounds like the grandkids are all having fun and also look forward to pics. I'm so thankful Jim is improving. Poor guy. It's cold out and he gets sick. Yuck. I had a winter like that. Thought it never would end. Prayers for all there. Y'all stay warm.
