I AM BACK!!!

Good morning and I am so happy to be posting again.  I found out that I am definitely addicted to this stupid computer and was lost without it.  When you are retired, and all of your children are grown and gone from the nest, the big thing is to do laundry and compute!  I made a statement on Facebook and will repeat here - 'God puts people in your life at the right time.'

I mentioned to my Sunday School teacher that if she needed to reach me, she would have to call, as my computer was down.  Never knowing or even thinking about it, her husband came to me that night in church and told me he worked with a man that could fix it, if fixable!  I took it to their house the next day, and he called me yesterday morning to say it was 100% again and the 'fixer' only charged $35.00!  As I said, God did it.

Ok, catch up time.  Our Thanksgiving was wonderful and we had 4 new people to join us and we all ate with tons of leftovers as well.  Sorry to say, didn't take very many pictures at all, was too busy making sure everyone ate what they wanted.  This is 5 of the six grands, my middle daughter Jennifer and their other grandmother.

This picture above is 4 of the new guests, my daughter in law, other (6th) granddaughter, and my son in law.....all waiting to be called to eat!

We don't have our Christmas tree(s) up as yet.  Murphy and I plan on going Wednesday to give the live tree that we will put on the front porch, and after it is decorated, lights hung on tree and edge of roof, I will put the little artificial tree in the living room, with the special ornaments and lights.  Pictures to follow.

My hand has gone through a rough period, so I guess not typing on the computer was a blessing in disguise.  I go to the doctor on 12-9 for re-check, and hope he can tell me all is well.  I am still unable to open a jar or a door knob, and cant carry anything heavy with that arm and hand.

My  two youngest granddaughters joined the Girl Scouts this fall and they were in a Christmas parade in their area.

This is Elizabeth..
Caroline is in the Santa hat, looking this way!

Goodness, I could go on and on, but wont, and just say, I have missed keeping up with everyone, and hope that doesn't happen again anytime soon.

Happy Tuesday!

  2. Linda...How wonderful to see you back and to know that you are doing better and that your computer has been fixed! What a blessing that you mentioned the computer to a friend at church and that the friend knew someone who could repair it. And the price! Wonderful price for working on a computer AND fixing it.
I know that you are overjoyed.
Your family photos are lovely. How precious are your Granddaughters. They are lovely, and I know that they are lovely on the inside as well.
So good to be here this morning....to feel the smiles in your voice as you post.
Have a lovely week and weekend.
    Hugs to you,
    Jackie

  4. It was so good to open blogger this morning and see your name. The man that fixed your computer was a blessing. I know I'm addicted, but as you said, being retired with little outside activities, my computer is my connection to people. My friends live in it!
Glad you had a good Thanksgiving. Great pictures. I love your room with the deer. Your grand-daughters are so pretty.
Hope you have a good day.

  5. "Hi, My name is Sparky and I'm a computer-holic too." [smile] I get totally weird when my 'puter is sick. Our computer guy is one hour from us. That's rough on the gasoline bill but I gotta have my stuff, man! [lol] And I sure don't trust just any 'ol "repair person" with my lifeline with the world. You're lucky to find someone reliable close at hand.

You have a handsome family. I wish we had big families. Ours are teeny tiny. We do dote on our 9 year old niece and 21 year old nephew. I wish they didn't live 8 hours away. We are praying that they'll all be able to move to SE Georgia one day.

All my Christmas decorations went up last weekend. I should post about that but have been too busy raking and burning leaves. I love my big oaks but goodness they can shed in the Fall and we have a little over 6 acres. It keeps us busy.

Resting a hand or wrist after surgery is a good thing. I went through that twice with my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgeries in 2001. I'm happy to hear you've improved.

And glad you're back! Looking forward to more enjoyable posts.

    God bless. ~:)

    1. I had bilateral carpal tunnel done about 25 years ago, and then had to have a repair on the left wrist about 2 years ago. Then, the right thumb joint replaced and this time the left thumb joint. I said all that to say, we are 'kin' in the hand dept! Thanks for being concerned for me. So glad to be back in touch.

  6. So glad to see you back again! I love how your computer was fixed and for such a good price. Glad you had a nice thanksgiving.
Our oak leaves are also falling now that the snow is on the ground. That's how it works every year.
