Do you have certain Christmas movies you try to watch every year? I love 'It's a wonderful life", 'The Christmas Story', and 'Charlie Brown's Christmas'. Which ones do you watch?
I have no idea how this day will go. We are all (the whole family) supposed to go to Leigh's(our oldest daughter) house for dinner tonight. If Jim is no better than he was yesterday, I seriously doubt he will go. Will have to wait and see. He had gotten a 'second wind' and for weeks he has been so much better, but when the pneumonia hit, he has gone down hill fast, and almost seems to have lost the will to get better.
We are due rain today and severe storms tomorrow.
“In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukkah' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukkah!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall!”
Well....I'm going to wish you a Merry Christmas. Safe travels to your daughters.
ReplyDeleteDo you know, we have not watched one Christmas movie yet. I love It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, The Christmas Story. This not good about Jim..so worrisome..will continue to keep in prayer. We're suppose to get bad weather too..suppose to change over from rain to sleet/ice event. It seems to warm all of sudden..I don't know. I pray for you all in the south..I read about that. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI have a set of favorite Christmas movies too, but haven't had the chance to watch them and my kids don't care for them, so I doubt I'll get to this year. I love the Nativity Story, The Christmas Gift, One Special Night, White Christmas and Holiday Inn and a favorite from when I was a child, The Night The Animals Talked. Hubby just found a copy online for me a couple of years ago. It's someone selling copies they made from the last time it was on TV, so the quality isn't good but I don't think it's available any other way. The message is too strong for today.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture. It looks like it should have George in it. My favorite holiday movies........ It's a Wonderful Life and The Christmas Story (you'll shoot your eye out).
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that about your hubby. He can't be that way! Continued prayers for him. God bless you both.
I will say "E, all the above" for watching Christmas movies! We do specially plan to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" on DVD Wednesday evening and maybe drink some eggnog. Won't that be fun? Y'all come on down and join us. :) I haven't had something sugary in awhile so I'll probably be bouncing off the walls for a couple of hours. [ha ha] Please tell Jim we wish him well and are praying for him. DON'T GIVE UP JIM!! There's still too many people that need witnessing too and saving. So we need good Christian people around. And you need to stick around for the grandkids. Prayers too that your traveling family stay safe. God bless from the balmy Southeast. ~:)
