First of all, let me say, I know you will literally LOL when you see the pictures I am posting.  But, remember, we never have snow that covers the ground.  Our road guys don't have a real clue how to take care of the highways and by-ways.  Just allow me to share...........

I am very thankful that we didn't lose power, no frozen water, and all of my children and grandchildren got home safe and sound.  Schools are closed today and many businesses.  Again, remember, we don't get this stuff often and we go nuts!  Also, notice one football stadium? Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN, where our VOLS play!

Don't know if we will have a church service tonight or not.  The sun is shining and right now it is 11 degrees, and supposed to get up to 30.  Doubt much will melt and I just cant take a chance in driving.  Remember, we don't know how to drive safely in it either!

  1. LOL! (sorry, just had to laugh)--in all seriousness, we saw this on the news last night..and family & friends in GA/Alabama are freaking out..not a good situation in Tuscaloosa, AL at all. Nor in Atlanta so I hear. No sense in going out in this Linda. You stay home..stay warm. Blessings

  2. Oh my, I am giggling too :) I live in Colorado so I guess we are used to the white stuff, but my heart does go out to those that aren't used to it. Look at the bright side, the kids are off from school and many people get a free, fun day on no work :)

I just looked at out forecast and it's 80% chance of snow until Friday - I am sure my son and I will go sledding. Have a beautiful, warm, and safe day, Linda! Hugs to you!

  5. Hope you don't mind, I saw where you were getting your backgrounds and went there to find something different, although I do kind of like the old Victorian type backgrounds.

Yes, I know the year we went to Texas to visit Abe's mom who had moved there to be close to her youngest daughter, they had some snow and people were standing outside watching it fall. They didn't know how to drive in it and only had sand to help out on the streets.

I think you better stay home tonight, you can have a small quiet 30 to 60 mins, reading some scriptures and etc. And I know God would not say you are a bad person, just a person with good judgement. Right at the moment we have 7 above. Yesterday we didn't have school, the wind chill factor made it about -30, sun came out, but nothing melted. Today they were on a two hour delay, sun is out again, but I'm not certain how warm it's suppose to get. I know the dog is learning to do his business and come running in.

Have a great day and keep warm.

    1. Guess you have figured out that I like to change my title and background every day. It is just my thing.....most people dont ever change and that is their thing! I change things around in the house too....lol Pastor just cancelled service for tonight for which I am thankful. Just keep warm and safe....this too shall pass!!!

  6. I'm not sure I could safely drive in the snow anymore. I've been down here in Florida for 24 winters now. I used to drive in it, though. It was just something we had to learn to do in Ohio. Glad you get to stay inside, safe & warm. Stay safe and enjoy your snowy day!

  7. As of tonight, our main roads are all looking great. Some have slush in the middle lanes but that's fine. However, our subdivisions are still frozen white. Since my daughter's school was closed, I have a couple of days off from babysitting. It is allowing me to get some projects completed. It will be odd to have to work five days next week. LOL

  8. Glad everyone is safe. Watching the news and seeing Facebook statuses of those friends and family I have living in the south at first seems comical when you live in Illinois and driving in this kind of weather is just part of life. But on the other hand it is also quite dangerous and I'd never want to see anyone injured either. The weather has been quite dreadful here in IL this winter. We've had more "snow" and too cold for school to even open days just this month alone than my daughter who has been in school for the last 4 1/2 years combined. I am ready to send winter away and embrace spring. lol I hope you and your loved ones continue to stay safe.

  9. I've been watching reports from your area and from the Atlanta area and it looks so dangerous! I couldn't believe the freeways...some people were stock on the freeway for 9 hours! I'm glad you and your family are safe! The snow is pretty when you can enjoy from a warm cozy house!!

  10. So glad you were spared any of the horrors of snow, everyone is safe and most could just get a good chuckle out of it. I remember one year we got flurries in West Palm Beach Fl and you would have thought a blizzard had passed through:))
