I ordered two new books from Amazon for my Kindle and cant wait to start one.  I love mysteries and the way that Lee Child writes keeps me on pins and needles. The main character is Jack Reacher, a former Major in the Army Military Police Corp.  Reacher quit at age 36, and roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations.  These books will keep your attention to the very end, because the writer wont give 'who dunnit' until the end.

This is a good time to read.  TV drives me nuts.  The shows I like are running re-runs and I have seen them all 2-3 times.

Church was extremely good last night.  The text was 1 Timothy 3, wherein it tells specifically the qualifications for a bishop (pastor) and the elders (deacons) in verses 1-6.  It is very interesting and everyone should know what God's Word says.  As my Pastor (bishop) said, if he doesn't follow God's plan, he certainly cant expect us (congregation) to do the same.  We are a family. Verses  4 & 5  say that he should be able to rule his own house (family), but if he doesn't, how can he take care of the church (family).

  4. I made a note... going to look up the author's books you mentioned. Thank you. I'm always on the look-out for new mysteries to read.
I'm with you on the television. It's mostly garbage. My few favorites are showing reruns too. :(
I've heard several teachings from 1 Timothy and it's always a good message.
    You have a great day.

  6. Lee Child sounds like a good author. I love murder mysteries. I have all of the Agatha Christie books and have one on hand to read at all times.

I Timothy 3 is indeed a good lesson for those who want to lead in the church group.

I'm tired today. Had a rough night. Tomorrow will be better, I'm sure.

    God bless ~:)

  7. I love my Kindle, it's much easier to hold while reading in bed! usually look for the free books too!
I remember years ago our pastor preaching on that very subject, and it's so good. It's getting harder and harder to keep households in order, my prayers go out for all those "preachers kids".

  9. You picture at the top is funny and could have my name in it. I have frequently told my husband that I will turn out the light and come to bed "as soon as I finish this chapter" but of course I have to keep reading past that point. The book sounds good. It's great when you can't figure out the plot. That is a sign of a good author. Some stories are soooo predictable. Our pastor was in Timothy yesterday, too - - - talking about us being people of the Book.
