Ephesians 2:19 states,
"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,
but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God."
Good Saturday morning. It is a grey, rainy day here, but a little rain never hurt anybody. My Mother used to tell me I wouldn't melt if I got wet! What are your plans today?
Jim and I went out to eat last night and had Chinese at our favorite restaurant. We order one item and split it and still have enough to bring home. They certainly don't skimp on the portions, and it was good as always. We can count of this restaurant to always serve the things we like and don't change up on us. (and I am thankful Jim felt like and was able to go!)
On the way home, we kept noticing all the pear trees in bloom. There is a row of these trees behind the Presbyterian Church in our neighborhood and I stopped to take some pictures. I think these trees are so pretty because they are the first breath of spring we see all around us.
Just got word from my son, that my grandson has been sick all night and today was supposed to be the opening day of the tee-ball, softball, baseball season at the recreation center, along with a parade to precede the opening games. But, the Lord saw fit to give us a rainy day instead so everything is cancelled until next Saturday and Jesse won't miss out.
I am going to a baby shower, that is a brunch at my church for a young couple having their first baby. I made lemon muffins to take. Another lady was making white with blue icing (they are having a boy), and I decided on plain muffins.
I leave you this morning with one of those quotes that make you go ahhhhhhhhhhh, right!
The government cannot give to
anybody anything that
the
government does not
first take
from somebody
else.
That is a good quote, and very true today. The gov't wants to take everything away from us and give it to those who don't deserve it. *Your muffins look so good. I love lemon in most anything. *I'm glad you and Jim were able to go out for Chinese last night. *I guess the rain was actually a blessing. Now your grandson won't miss out on the first day of t-ball. I hope he gets well very soon.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good weekend.
That IS a good quote, and it speaks the truth. I'm glad Jim was feeling better, and up to going out for dinner at your favorite restaurant. It's also good news that Jesse won't miss the start of his sports season, but I'm sorry he has been sick. The Catholic church still has daily Mass, Linda. Most have two morning Masses, Monday through Saturday. Ours does 7:30 and 9:00. Of course, those of us who work, can't take advantage or the week-day Masses. You are right, though, that church takes a back seat to many things in our lives. I do pray and read my Bible daily, though, and feel it if I have missed it for some reason. We have rain, here, too, and it is steamy out. Too early for steamy. We have the AC on today! Wishing you a good weekend, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteHope your grandson feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe muffins look yummy!
Enjoy your Sunday tomorrow and your time in church. I can tell you have a place that makes a positive difference in your life and know you are a blessing to your church family.
I sing in the Easter Choir in the little church we started attending a couple months ago. We are doing a song for Palm Sunday tomorrow. First time to be in a choir for about 10 years for me but it feels nice taking part. I'm not too great a singer but we sing for the joy of the Lord :)
