We have made it!

Our weather is supposed to change, according to the tv weathermen, from sunshine to rain, snow flurries, wind and just all in all yukky weather for the entire weekend.  Good time to den up and read or watch re-runs.  Wait, I have been doing that already.  I am just hoping that the flowers and trees that are blooming won't be killed by severe cold, etc.

I have been trying to get some new checks from my bank for over 2 weeks now.  I first called the main office, gave the info to customer service rep and she said from 7-10 days.  I have waited for 14.  Finally called on Tuesday, and was told they could mail them to me for $4.50 or I could pick them up at a branch near me.  I chose the closest branch and waited an extra day to be sure they had arrived.  I drove to the branch yesterday and guess what?  No checks....they received deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays.  This lady gave me her card and told me to call today, instead of making an extra trip.  Uh....guess I will try that.  Bills are arriving and no checks to pay those bills.  Not a happy camper (or banker I should say).

Tomorrow at 11 am, my church is having a baby shower/brunch for a sweet couple who are having their first child.  I signed up to take muffins, so am making 2 dozen lemon ones.  I still have to buy her a gift, and am thinking I will purchase diapers.  One can never have too many!

Jim is still asleep, so I am tip-toeing to give him plenty of time to rest and re-coup!  I wish you a happy day.

Matthew 22:37

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

Are you following Jesus with one hundred percent of your heart?

  4. Our trees are budding too and my iris are coming up. I hope this cold weather doesn't hurt them.
When it comes to baby showers I'm the 'practical' giver too. Last one I went to I gave her diapers and small bottles of lotion, diaper creme, etc. for her diaper bag.
It sounds like your bank is Wells Fargo, like mine. They can be a real pain in the behind. That's horrible. Hope you get your checks today.
I hope you and your hubby have a good day.

  5. Hi Linda....it seems like warm weather will never get here. I never order my checks from the bank....I order mine on line and even though they say it will take several weeks the last batch arrived in a week. Bank checks are too expensive for me. Hope you have a good weekend and stay warm.

    1. Ruth, I always order from my bank and they don't cost me a dime. There was some type miscommunication within the bank that caused mine to be late, but I have them now and all is well. Hope your weekend is a good one.

  6. Hope you have a wonderful Sat. before the winter mess hits. We're suppose to get a mixture of snow starting Sunday. I'm so ready for Winter to be gone. Have fun at the shower. Yes Diapers are always nice, I remember with our first four we only had cloth diapers, with surprise (5th) one we had disposable, but I still used clothe after she was a month old. They made wonderful rags for wiping the car after it was washed, and dust rags, so many uses.
