Serious Thoughts

I have been giving very serious thought to my time and blogging and many other things in my life.
Jim is fading right before my eyes.  I got him out of the house tonight and we went to a local pizza place.  As I sat across the table from him, I watched him......eat, look around, and not a word was spoken.  It breaks my heart to look at him.  I have known him for 50 years and he has always been a 'tough old geezer'.  He is not now.  He has that glassy look in his eyes.
Moving on, I need to spend as much time with him as I can and concentrate on that, sooooooooooooo, you probably know where I am going, but......I am going to cease posting every day for a while.  I may make a short paragraph now and then, or may not.
I will read your entries as I can, when he is asleep, etc., but I just feel a real need to spend every second of every day with him.  He will be 81 on 5-27 and I just pray he makes it til then.
If you are a prayer warrior, please remember us both and whatever is to come, make it an easy transition.
Love you all and treasure the friendships I have made here.

Til.................................................................

If you woke up this morning, and you're still here―God still has a plan for your life!
When you are in a storm, what seems to be a problem to you is not a problem to God.
Glance at your problems and gaze at your Lord.
Where we cannot trace God's hand, we can trust His heart.
Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light.
God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
God doesn't want to give you the wings of a dove to fly away; He wants to give you the wings of an eagle to soar right where you are.

  1. I totally understand why you are doing this and kudos to you for the right priorities. I'll be praying for both of you. If you have a minute for an update, I think that's more important than visiting us. Hugs!

  2. I pray that our Lord will be especially close to Jim...hugging and holding him through any difficult moments. I pray that the Lord will be with you, too, my friend. Of course...spend every precious moment with your Jim. We are here...and we are praying.
    Love,
    Jackie

  6. I understand. So sorry you have to go through this, but I'm sure you are not alone, you have family and friends close by. But still it's hard on the one person who is with their loved one 24 hours a day. Take care of yourself, don't get yourself in a run down condition. May 27th. is a girl friends Birthday, she is one year younger then me, she'll be 76, I'll be 77 in Oct. My friend and I have been friends since 5th. grade of school. Wish Jim Happy Birthday from the Lincoln's.

  9. You are doing the right thing even though we will miss you. Of course he should come before anything else at this point. I totally understand this. We will pray for both of you - - - especially that you have strength to do what God calls you to do during these days - - - when they are short or whether they are lengthened.
