DREAMS, WHAT CAUSES THEM?
1) Sigmund Freud's Theory on Dreams - Freud's opinion was that dreams were an outlet for our hidden desires and in spite of the fact that there were numerous theories regarding this topic but none could actually gain as much ground as Freud's theory. Freud said that our dreams were based on the activities that we do all day long which are combined with our wishes.
2) Carl Jung's Theory on Dreams- Jung said that dreams were result of not only one's personal experience but one part of it is also associated with the collective conscious which is part of the mind. It consists of the impressions of the processes occurring in the world.3) Perception- It is also believed that dreams also determined by the way we perceive and how pour imagination guides. There are some people who would think of the lovely scent of the flower when they look at a rose and few who would think of the thorn and the pain it inflicts when they look at the same flower. These perceptions are also shaped by an individuals personal experience.
I had one of those 'intentsive' dreams last night and where it came from, I don't have a clue. I dreamed I was in a room, locked in, and waited all night long for someone to come find me, unlock the door, so that I could get out. It might possibly have come from a tv show I watched right before I went to bed. A 5 year old little boy was kidnapped and locked in a room, and the characters from Criminal Minds (the tv show) was looking to find him before the kidnapper killed the child.
I was worn out this morning as I had worked all night trying to get out of that room. Do you ever have dreams like that?
On a happier note, my knock out rose out by the mailbox is blooming it's little heart out!
I have another closer to the house, but we had to cut it back last fall and it has new growth on it, but no blooms as yet.
The sun is out and the sky is very blue. According to the weather people, we are to have about 2 days of nice sunshiny weather and back to rain for the weekend. Lovely! Have a happy day!
I have crazy dreams too, but not scary usually - just plain weird!
ReplyDeleteI know I dream, but I rarely remember them. Probably just as well!! Hope you get some nap time today, after working so hard all night long!
ReplyDeleteI have another theory on the cause of dreams.... what I ate before I went to bed. Those can be very weird. I never used to have dreams or any that I remembered the next morning. Then I was put on a prescription drug. Now I have them all the time. And I remember them in the morning. Most have been stupid. The mind is an amazing thing.
ReplyDeleteI rarely remember my dreams. I am sure I have them, but about once a year or so, I will remember one and guess last night was my time...lol
ReplyDeleteDreams can be very strange sometimes. I time travel to Michigan as a younger me sometimes & sometimes characters get mixed up from the two places. Sometimes dreams are just weird. I did notice that medicine usually has a part in that for me anyways. Even a Tylenol before bed effects me sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYup sounds like you need a nap after that dream!
Your roses are so pretty and I love the joke about army men in the coffee cup lol my oldest son used to put them in his Daddy's boots
Those explanations would explain why dreams get so crazy! lol I often wonder why I dream the things I do!
