'SNIPPITS' OF MY DAYS

Do you remember those days?

My youngest granddaughter had her Mother call to tell us that she had lost two teeth within a week.   You can see the new ones already coming in.  She was so excited.....I do remember those days with my own children and the Tooth Fairy visiting.

My oldest daughter posted the following on Facebook.....
"Grayce said it best, it has been a good day....good grade on my test, XC(cross country) team got their third victory and Signal Mountain volleyball shuts out Notre Dame 3. 0 in volleyball!! I agree Grayce, it has been a good day!!! — feeling blessed."
(That does just about say it all for them yesterday)

This is probably my all-time favorite of the veggies grown in the garden and it is time to be harvested.  I can make a meal with just boiled corn any day....how about you?  Do you like it boiled, creamed, soup'd, etc.?

This is my son and his big, portable grill and concessions trailer, and tomorrow he is cooking all the food for a HUGE event.  The Dade County Sheriff's Department is having a 'hot rod, antique car, motorcycles, live music, pin up girl, festival/fair of sorts.  Dade County is the next county below us in Georgia.  This event is for their 'HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS', wherein they provide toys and food for the less fortunate.

Last but not least of course ----tomorrow is

  1. Good morning, Linda! I do remember those days of the tooth fairy all so well! I miss those days. It is so cute how proud they are when they lose a tooth. I love your daughter's FB status..a thankful heart is such a blessing! I think your son's business is so cool! Does he ever do graduation parties? I would have loved to have had his grilling service at Matt's party. Have a great weekend, Linda!

  2. Hi Linda! The little ones are so much fun at that age of tooth fairies and Santa! Your super athletes are continuing with their victories, not to mention their good grades. Always nice to hear! Great news that Murphy got such a big job for his business. They are in for a treat! I LOVE corn-on-the-cob, dripping in real butter with some salt. Oh my - heaven!! Good luck to your Vols!!

  4. I remember all those nights the tooth fairy had to sneak into the bedrooms. Sometimes "he" wasn't very quiet.
Fresh Corn? Oh, yes! Boiled... creamed.... in soup... popped! I love corn.
Your son has a very nice looking concession trailer. Hope the sheriff's dept. event has a huge turnout and his food is sold out. This type of event will get him so much more word-of-mouth advertising. Wishing him much success.
Hope you have a good day.

  6. I've gotten lots of loot off the Tooth Fairy in my day too. I'm glad those days are over. [owie] ;) Love corn prepared just about anyway one can think of. Good luck on the cookout! Sounds like a blast. Anything with food and motorcycles is OK in my book. Hope y'all have a great time. God bless.

  7. Yes, I miss tucking those coins under my kid's pillows! I love corn on the cob, but I limit it since it doesn't digest well and is a starch.
