Brrrr...it is 40 and that has been our coolest yet....next week we are to see what we consider to be winter 30's.Did anyone see Billy Graham's last sermon at his 95th birthday party last night? No doubt he is a Godly man. I got to hear him in person when I lived in Nashville. It was at the football stadium of Vanderbilt University. I respected and admired him then, and still do. He is a very humble man.
Grayce had a soccer game last night but her team lost.
Gotta have some losses to make the wins sweeter, right?
Basketball will begin in 4 days for Aryn. They got new practice uniforms and she sent me a picture....she is on the back row, 4th from the right.
School sports gets so expensive now days. Back in the 'dark ages', we didn't have special shoes, practice uniforms, jackets, long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shorts and who knows what else. We had a shirt and a pair of shorts, period.
Caroline and Elizabeth, my 8 and 6 year old sisters, went to their school last night to become 'girl scouts', or at their age 'daisies'! I know they are excited.
Whatever, Lord, we lend to Thee,
Repaid a thousand-fold will be;
Then gladly will we give to Thee,
Who givest all—who givest all.
Repaid a thousand-fold will be;
Then gladly will we give to Thee,
Who givest all—who givest all.
We disarm the power of money by giving it away.

29 here and suppose to snow sometime today. Enjoy those grands, makes raising their parents all worth while.
ReplyDeleteBack in "my day" we wore black shorts and white blouses because everyone could find those, inexpensively and in any size. That was even our band's summer uniform! Things were much simpler back then. Your grands are all so beautiful and talented, Linda!! I know you are proud! Stay warm up there!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Linda..32* and it was snowing at 6am! (boy was it coming down!)-love the pictures of your grandchildren. You sure can make me smile. Thanks for sharing. I did not see the program last night..sadly..I am in bed by 9-9:30 and it came on at 10. Blessings
ReplyDeleteWe're cold here, but it's normal for Ohio. I missed Billy Graham last night but I just checked the TV schedule and it's being replayed several times on more channels. I hope to catch one of them.
ReplyDeleteYep, back in the "old days" we never had all the expensive stuff for sports. I know some kids that can't play, but want to, just because their parents can't afford the costs.
Take care, my friend.
I love Billy Graham...and loved George Beverly Shea (could listen to him sing "How Great Thou Art" all night long.
ReplyDeleteThey both have blessed my heart....
