WE ALL NEED SOMETHING
TO BELIEVE IN!
The world is in a mess, right? Our country is divided. Things that would never have been said or seen, are right out there in front of us daily. Morals are down the drain.
Yes, I am from the old school, but lots of times, the old school would be better used than the schools we adhere to now. Movies, music, dress, spoken words, all need a major adjustment, and back to respect and decency.
Many people call right wrong and wrong right. It is wrong to live for material things. The one that loves worldly possessions is going to find out that they do not satisfy.
2 Timothy 3:13 says: "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being
deceived."
There is a wrong side of life and a right side of life, but there is also a bright side of life. We must learn to enjoy the journey just as much as we hope to enjoy the destination.
"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22
What side of life are you living?
I dont know what got me on this subject this morning. Maybe while I was praying for the message this morning at church, or after reading this news, or just thinking. We all worry about everything. I remember in one message my Pastor said, if you know the Lord, and if He is your personal Savior, you know the end is in His hands - not ours. Why worry? He is in control of everything.
Great post this morning Linda! The way I live my life is with values and morals that my parents instilled in me. I believe that Walt and I have taken those same values and morals and have passed them to our children. I think the problem with the world sometimes is that parents and people who can influence the lives of children are letting the ball drop. I don't think they are investing their time into really raising their children. They are confused by parenting, they give them all the materialistic stuff the children want but don't give them emotional and spiritual guidance that they need.
ReplyDeleteWalt and I are going to the Tiger game with Lindsay and Matt today! We are going to meet up with our old 360/Multiply friends at the game. We had dinner with Bill and Pat last night, and had such a great time:) Have a wonderful and Blessed Sunday my friend..((HUGS))
I believe you are absolutely right - parents either give too much money or too little time. Teaching the right way is a day to day thing, not hit or miss. It shows in the long run.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day with friends and your Tigers. Hugs
I agree with both of you! Kids can "go bad" even if they have had good parenting, but their chance at living a full and happy life, full of love and understanding, are so much better when the parents have really been involved in their lives - AND when they have been raised with faith in God.
ReplyDeleteGood post, Linda! Wishing you a great week ahead!
