Day 299 of 2012

Fall is definitely in the air - everywhere!  Whether it be in color or temperature, or just bright blue skies, it is with us and I love it.  For some reason, I always feel better, have more energy, and my outlook is always good in the fall.

56 days until winter begins

Everyone seems to be posting fall pictures, so here are mine.....

Do you know the "woolly worm" prediction?  According to folklore, the woolly worm's stripes predict winter weather.

The woolly bear caterpillar—with its 13 distinct segments of black and reddish-brown—has the reputation of being able to forecast the coming winter weather.  If the brown section is narrow, it will be a stormy, icy, cold winter.  If the band is wide, it will be a mild winter.

Today is my 71st birthday and all of my children and grandchildren are coming tonight at 6:30 for a celebration.  They all called this morning and told me they hoped it would be the best.  I told them thank you and every day above ground IS the best!  They are cooking dinner and we will have a "time of fun and laughter" for sure.  They always ask what I want to eat and what kind of cake I want.  I requested chicken casserole, 7 layer salad (which my son prepares) and a Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake with mint chocolate ice cream!  Yummm, cant wait!

It is not about "religion", it is about a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  6. Well... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Linda! I know you had a wonderful time this evening. And a delicious meal. The cake looks so good.
I like your pictures. Autumn has definitely arrived. Our trees look naked, our yard a mess. Frankly, I like the looks of fallen leaves, lots of color. I wish the city would let us burn them like we used to. The smell is wonderful.
Your background/page is cute. I may look into this web site. I've tried so many and I can't figure out how to do it. I'm forced to just use the pre-designed templates from Google.
