DAY 301 OF 2012

Some of my friends are bracing for a storm headed their way; some are dreading the cool to cold temps in their area of the country, but all in all, we are all blessed to live in the greatest country in the world.  When the bad comes, let's remember who is in control.

My birthday was wonderful.  My children did a great job with the food, the cards, the gifts and just being here.  I received two Amazon gift cards, and now cant decide whether I want a Kindle Fire or a Kuerig Coffeemaker!

Do any of you have either one and if so, what are you thoughts?

We had my favorites, chicken casserole and 7 layer salad and they came through with my mint chocolate chip, Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake.  Everything was just perfect.

Prior to the party, I took my oldest granddaughter, Aryn, to the doctor to have a wort removed and I love spending one on one time with her.  She talks my ears off and I learn so much about her life now as a teenager.

All of my grands are just that - grand!!!

Aryn and Jesse playing
a game on the Ipod or pad
or whatever that is
called!!!

Rayven - she really isn't shy!

Grayce being silly!

Elizabeth and Caroline
dancing!
Another gift I received was a basket of Dunkin' Donuts items......regular breakfast coffee, pumpkin coffee, some chocolate/orange rolled wafers and a Dunkin' travel mug!  If you can't tell, Dunkin' Donuts is my all time favorite coffee.....my kids really do know me, don't they?  lol

Now...is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It will not last forever.

  3. So glad you enjoyed your birthday. It's always fun to spend a day with the grands. As for your Amazon gift card... I have a Kindle Fire and I love it. I can take it everywhere I go with plenty of reading material. There are a couple web pages I belong to where I can get free books to download... I've read some very good books that way. I have apps and games for the grandkids to keep them occupied when they get bored. It's been fun to have.
I thought about a Kuerig coffee maker. My sister has one and she loved it. Then we went shopping for the little coffee refills. I never found a place that sells just a box of my favorite. The only way to get it was in the assortment pack. So I would be left with all these little cups that no one likes. And my gosh... they are so expensive. I changed my mind about getting one.
    You have a good Sat.

  4. Thanks for telling me about your Kindle Fire. I have had the old original Kindle for years and absolutely love it...take it everywhere I go, and have over 200 books downloaded. I have a site where I can also get the freebies. I guess I just love gadgets and want the newest. About the coffeemaker....I have thought the same thing. Jim doesnt drink coffee, so it would be just for me, but like you, not sure I want all the flavors. Will have to do some more thinking, but again thanks for your input.

  5. Hi Linda! Our internet was back on when I got home from church this evening! Hooray! I just got a new Nexus 7, and love it. Our techie guy at work told me to get it instead of the Kindle Fire. Kim Komando (a computer guru, on the radio and on line) said that the two best are the Kindle Fire HD, and the Nexus 7. I trust her and my friend, Gregory. What fun to get to pick your birthday gift! I have friends who have the Kuerig and love it. I love my Bunn coffee maker. Let us know what you decide!

  6. Your birthday celebration was awesome!! Loved the pictures! I don't have a Kindle Fire or a Kuerig, but if I had to pick one I think I would choose the Kindle Fire. I like just plain old black coffee so my Mr. Coffee works just fine. I can't wait to hear what you decide!
