Can you tell from my background what is starting tonight for one of my grandchildren, and what we will be doing for several weeks/months?  Aryn, our oldest, plays all sports, but basketball seems to be the one she concentrates on best.  I pray you will bear with me, as I brag, complain, pray and enjoy watching her.  As both my daughter and son in law work, I get to play taxi some of the time, getting her to games for them.

Beginning tonight, this gym
will be working alive!
Aryn is such a typical teenager and so much fun to watch her play and be around her.  I am blessed today, #15, to have great grandchildren.

We had a really good service at church last night.  The Pastor's message was "Great and Precious Promises" of the Bible.  Did you know there are 30,000+ promises given there?

A promise is not effective until it is claimed and makes a difference in our lives.

Several of the promises he spoke about are:
1) God is our constant companion. (Heb. 13:5)
(He never leaves or forsakes us)
2) He answers prayer. (Matt. 18:19)
3) He gives us sufficient grace. (II Corth. 12:7-10)
4) He gives genuine peace. (John 14:27)
5) He supplies our needs. (Phil. 4:19)
6) He gives us eternal life. (John 14:1-4)

6 out of 30,000.  WOWOWOW!  God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good!

The beauty of the season.

I took these yesterday when I went to the grocery store.....we call them the "burning bush", but I am not sure the technical name, I just know they are beautiful in the fall.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I ponder....do you say dressing or stuffing?  lol  And is yours made with cornbread or other type breads?

  1. Good morning, Linda! I am always happy to hear about your grandchildren and their activities!!

Thank you for posting six of the 30,000+ of God's promises. We always need to be reminded, and it makes for a great start to my day!

I grew up having DRESSING for Thanksgiving, and still make my mom's dressing, with white bread.

Have a good day, my friend! Hugs.

  2. You can brag about your grandchildren all you want, because I will probably do the same thing. They are such a blessing. * As for the 'dressing', for our family it's dressing if it's baked in a dish. If it comes out of the bird, then it's stuffing. And I always make it with bread (white and whole wheat mix) and my husband always wants a dish of it. He loves it. I prefer the stuffing but no giblets in mine, please. :-p

  3. I still dressing may be more of a southern thing....made with cornbread, and no giblets for me either. My grandmother, who raised me, was from Ohio and hers was made with day or two old, leftover biscuits, and I had never had cornbread dressing until I got married to a good old country boy! lol. We dont stuff "tom" either...it is a side dish!
