Good Saturday morning! It feels like the holidays finally. Our high today is to be 49. When it is warm outside, it is hard for me to think "Christmas". I grew up in Nashville, TN and we almost always had snow on or around that special day, so I guess that is why I feel the way I do. Now in Chattanooga, we are lucky if we get snow flakes one day during the winter months. You would think I would have gotten used to it, but I haven't. Probably the child in me too! Aryn's basketball team lost 54-52 in the last 6 seconds. It was a real "nail biter" from the beginning. She scored 30 points though, so all was not lost for us. We are going to Georgia today to the graveside service of our dear friend. I think we will have to wear our "long johns" or freeze to death! A few of our decorations...............
So, it really is beginning to look alot like Christmas!
Good morning, Linda. Your photos do show the Christmas spirit! I got over wanting it to be cold for Christmas a long time ago. We've been in Florida for 24 years. I have memories of growing up in Ohio, though, with my dad hoping for snow on Thanksgiving morning - the first day of rabbit season. He liked being able to track the rabbits in the snow. He would hunt while mom prepared Thanksgiving dinner.
I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. It is somehow fitting to have rain, snow or cold for a funeral, reflecting the mood. I guess, really, sunshine and joy would be more fitting because our loved ones have moved on to a better place, without pain or heartache. It's never easy on those left behind, however.
2 points? Wow.. that must have been quite a game. I always enjoy some snow on Christmas, but wish it would be gone the next day. One day is enough for me. Sorry for the loss of your friend. Going to a funeral in bad weather makes it even more sad. I hope the rest of your weekend is a good one.
Michigan usually has snow on Christmas, sometimes even on Easter..LOL. It does make for a beautiful holiday (Christmas, not Easter..ha). That is a bummer that Aryn's team lost in the last 6 seconds but congrats to her on her 30 points! I love your decorations!
