THOUGHTS ON THURSDAY!

1) I am so thankful for the Word of God.  Every time I open it, I learn something new.
2) I love the daily routine that I have, which keeps me sane and on track of life.
3) I am happy for technology and the computer generation.  I can keep in touch with friends and family even when I don't get to see them in person.
4) I am so blessed that my children, grandchildren all live close and I can see and talk to them, some daily, but most at least weekly.
5) I believe in prayer, and have experienced answers.
6) I don't have 100% good health, but I have good enough that I can keep going when I want to!
7) Even though my cat Cali keeps pulling ornaments off the Christmas tree, she is still a delight and good companion.  (Jim isn't crazy about her, but he tolerates her for me!)
8) I get teased so much about not wearing a coat in winter, but honestly, I do NOT get cold like most people.  It must be my fat!  I don't even own a coat...
9) Paid bills yesterday and every time I do, I get a satisfying feeling....at least I still can pay them.
10)We are going for a ride up beside the Ocoee River, where an Olympic event was held, which leads into the North Carolina mountains...my love.  Pictures to follow of course!

My friends from church are both in a rehab hospital now and the gentleman did not have to have surgery after all.  They are both in severe pain, as you can imagine with bones cracked, fractured and broken.  They will have a long road ahead to heal.  He is 83 and she is 79.  (Janice and C.B. are their names)

Speaking of church...lol...our message last night was from Romans 12:1 & 2.  The statement that stuck in my mind and heart was "my beliefs will affect my behavior".    The 4th verse of the song by Isaac Watts, "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" just about sums it up for me.

"Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all."

  1. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. :)

  2. I enjoyed reading your list Linda. I too have seen prayers answered. I have some of my favorite and encouraging scriptures posted on the wall around the house. I smiled when I read that you do not own a coat or need one. I do not like coats don't have one either. They get in my way. I stay plenty warm enough with a sweater when it is cold. I guess it is my fat too but I don't get cold like others do. Have a blessed day. Hugs

  4. Janice and C.B. will remain in my daily prayers, Linda. Thanks for the update! I enjoyed your list today, and I also (as you know) believe in the power of prayer and have also had answers. Enjoy your ride and I'll look forward to the photos!

  5. The ride sounds like fun. I also love the mountains. That's why I live in northern Ohio. hahaha That was a joke. We're so flat we can see for miles. Your friends will remain in our prayers. I also believe in the power of prayer and I've seen many answered... In His wisdom of course. I like your list. I could repeat each one. We have so many blessings to be thankful for. God bless.
