We have fallen from the 70's to 30 this morning. Quite a shock to the old system, but after all, it is winter, and it is nearly Christmas, right? Guess I need to turn off the ceiling fans and turn on the electric blanket. At least it keeps it interesting.....never a dull moment, weather wise, in Tennessee.
We took our weekly drive through Chickamauga Battlefield, and the deer didn't disappoint us....
If they got any closer, they would be in the back seat of the car...lol If I were a deer, I would definitely want to live in the Battlefield, as they are very protected, have 5,000+ acres to roam and enjoy.
Am babysitting my grandson today and it will be an interesting day. I will wish you a lovely day and leave you with the following..............
Legend of the Poinsettia........
The Poinsettia is a beautiful red, star shaped flower, favorite of United States.
Some legends are associated with this flower, which
make this flower even more divine. The legend
comes
from Mexico, where a poor little girl named Maria
and her little brother Pablo, used to celebrate Christmas in their village. The
two children were very kind hearted. They wished to distribute gifts in the
manger scene set up. But they were heartbroken since they did not have enough
money to buy gifts. So they picked up some weeds on their way, and presented
them to their baby Jesus. Though they became an object of fun to every villager
present, but to their astonishment, the green top leaves turned into bright red
petals, and soon the manger was surrounded by beautiful star-like flowers and so we see them
today.
I always have to put a poinsettia at the front door, and now it has even more meaning!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having fun with Jesse today! He is SO cute!!
The deer are so beautiful. I don't know how anyone can shoot one, even though my dad was a hunter and brought a deer home a few times.
Wishing you a good Tuesday!
I love photos of deer. I think they are the most beautiful animal there is! I can't believe how cold it has gotten in your neck of the woods! We are enjoying mild temps for this time of the year..40's and sunny. I loved the story of the poinsettia. I always put one on my fireplace mantel.
ReplyDeleteThe cold has come back for us too!
ReplyDeleteWe seem to be on a roller coaster this year with the weather. It was warm and windy yesterday and then this morning we had snow flurries!
I love your deer picture. I think they are such beautiful animals.
ReplyDeleteI'd heard that story of the poinsettia. I'd like to think it's real. I know I love them, but have never had any success keeping one alive.
