I couldn't have said it better myself. Mondays are usually dreaded, but for me, at least it is one more day above ground and I am happy about that - rain and all! I knew I was sleeping too good for some reason, and heard the rain hitting the tin roof, so just snuggled back down under the covers!
I know my friends up north won't understand, but we always wish for snow in or around Christmas. So far, we have had days at 70 or upper 60's. After the rain today and evening, the temps are to drop significantly. If we cant have snow, please "Santa" can we at least have some cold? I was reared in Nashville, and we always seemed to have snow on Christmas, but moving south to Chattanooga, we don't get to see it often.
My middle daughter sent me two pictures of her precious girls, my Caroline who is 7 and very animated, and Elizabeth (the calm one) who will be 5 in February. They just finished putting up their tree and the girls were being silly, but in my book, so cute!
A young 14 year old boy was admitted to T. C. Thompson's Children Hospital and diagnosed with some type of cancer. His Mother left him there and never reappeared. My granddaughter's basketball team all got together yesterday afternoon and visited him. I cant imagine a mother doing something like that, but I appreciate that the young people realized that Christmas is a time of giving to others, not always getting.
My Sunday School teacher's husband got to surgery just in time as his appendix ruptured. God put him in the right place at the right time, and he is doing fine. She is also my grandson's babysitter, and needless to say, she wont be working this week, so I will have the joy of him staying with us a day or two.
The way you live your life is your gift to
those who come after.
Make it a fantastic one.

ReplyDeleteA great blog, Linda! Love the photos!! Very cute! I am from Ohio, and saw enough snow to last me my lifetime. Linda, I don't ever care to see snow in person, ever again! LOL
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a mother leaving her child like that, unless she has a mental illness of some kind. Bless all those helping him!
Wishing you a good Tuesday!!
LOL, Terri this morning when I typed that about seeing or wanting cold or snow, I immediately thought of you and knowing how you feel about it, I laughed to myself.....I am sure I would be the same way had I been reared in the really cold north that has all that white stuff!
DeleteHi Linda, We had heavy rain last night and today, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the girls and I know you'll enjoy your grandson this week.
May God bless the little boy in the hospital. What a sad story.
For some reason, I am not able to leave a comment on Terri D's blog (I see her comment above mine). Could you please contact her and let her know I am reading her posts but I cannot leave a comment. I wish her a happy birthday. Thank you.
Hope you have a restful night. Mildred
We had some snow flurries today. It didn't stick because the ground is still too warm, but I thought of you as I watched the big flakes fall.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are so cute, but I can imagine that little Caroline can be ornery. It shows in her eyes. But as Grandma, we just love them more.
That poor boy in the hospital. I never understand how any parent could do something like that to a sick child.
You have a good night.
I understand about wanting snow for Christmas! I can't wait for our first big snowfall. I hope it is on Christmas! Your granddaughters are so cute! So happy to hear your friend's husband is doing better!
