Psalm 71:1----"In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion."

Many Christians will brag with their mouth that they "trust in the Lord", yet when given the opportunity to put feet to their words, they simply won't be moved!  I believe this was meant for me this morning.  I talk the talk, but do I walk the walk?

Good morning Blogger friends.  I slept all night without leg or foot cramps.  Thank you Lord.  I will continue doing what I did yesterday, in hopes that I have found the key.  Thank you for your prayers.

Aryn's team won last night and she scored 25 points.  The coach of the other team was heard calling her a "runt".  #1 Unsportsman like conduct of their coach, who is supposed to be the adult and motivate...but #2, none of his players scored 25 points.  I will take my "runt" any day!  Aryn laughed about it because she knows what she can and cannot do.

NEWS FLASH!
Jim wants a dog!  He wants an already house trained, small lap type dog.  He said he feels it will be calming for him.  I asked about how a dog and a cat in the same house would work, and he replied, they will either become buddies or not.  Pretty simple, huh?  lol  He had to go check on one of his jobs this morning, but said "we might go out to one of the rescue places and look for a dog this afternoon."  I hope he will be able to walk and take the dog out for "business", but I didn't argue about it, because I understand.  May be more work for me, but if it brings him enjoyment, I am all for it!

Tomorrow I will go to the Hoops for Hope at Aryn's school.  This benefits the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Cancer Foundation. (She was a much loved tv announcer here in town and had breast cancer) All proceeds go directly there, to give 2 young people scholarships.  The 8 teams that are participating sold 975 t-shirts, with this logo on it for $10.00 each and that all went to the foundation as well.  There will be 4 basketball games and her team plays at 4 pm.  But all day there will be activities, choirs, dance groups, etc.  At 12:30 her sister, Grayce's school choir will sing, so I will definitely be there for that.  Jim may go also, and then go over to my daughter's house and rest until Aryn's team is to play.  I am playing it by ear for him.

I have a recipe for corn chowder that I found on Pinterest and plan to make it either today or at least sometime over the weekend...will let you know how it tastes.  May be a keeper for cold weather food.

Have a wonderful day and weekend ahead.

  1. Corn chowder is so good! If the recipe turns out good, please share it with us!

If you are going to a shelter for a dog, they will know which dogs do well with cats and children, so be sure to ask that question!

Congrats again to Aryn and her team, and it's wonderful that the fund raiser did so well! I'm sure you will enjoy hearing Grayce sing, too!

Keep us posted about all of this, now! (And I KNOW you walk the walk, Linda!!)

  2. That is exciting that you and Joe will be adopting a dog! We got both Buddy and Scooby after they were already house broken. They were still puppies but we didn't have to worry about them making a mess in the house. I can't wait to hear if Joe finds one today! Congrats to Aryn and her team!! I think it's awful that the opposing coach would call Aryn a runt. I would have to complain to their school about that. He is an adult for goodness sake. Hoops for Hope sounds like a wonderful fundraiser! I hope they are successful in raising money. How nice that you will get to see Grayce sing! Have a wonderful weekend, Linda!

  5. Way to go Aryn! Great sounding game.
We have my late mom's mini dachshund. She has been a wonderful addition to our family - she was four years old, when we rescued her from a breeder.
I pray you two find the perfect dog! Keep us posted.

  6. It's good to hear that you didn't have the leg cramps. I pray you have found a solution.
Congratulations to Aryn. Good job.... for a 'runt'. She's such a good sport.
It's a proven fact that a dog is good for our health. I hope he finds one that makes him happy and doesn't disrupt your life terribly. :)
